Complaint 2 of 3 in "Cancelled / Refuse to Renew Policy"

Insurance Carrier: Wellcare
State: Illinois

Consumer Complaint:

WellCare Medicare Supplement cancelled my mother's coverage effective 12/31/08 because their records indicated she had moved out of the coverage area. Absolutely not true ... as she continues to live at the same address when the policy was written.

Insurance Expert Answer:

Call them immediately, ask the person you speak to for his or her name, explain it was not the case, offer to send them written confirmation, and ask what you can do now. THEN send a polite letter to the person you spoke with a carbon or photocopy to the CEO of the insurance company confirming the conversation, stating there was an error on their part, and again asking them to reinstate coverage.
