Complaint 6 of 12 in "Errors in Claim Payments"

Insurance Carrier: Weyco Meritain Health Company
State: Indiana

Consumer Complaint:

We have 2 claims to Weyco Meritain Health Co as the secondary payer. We submitted these claims with the primary carrier's EOB, but Weyco Meritain acknowledges receipt of our claims, but refuses to pay with the insurance EOB we sent. They insist that the EOB must come directly from the patient or the insurance company, not the provider. This is a blatant form of non-compliance.

Insurance Expert Answer:

Although I am not sure you're right (carriers are entitled to get originals) complain to the State Insurance Department and also write a letter - a polite one - to the CEO of the primary insurance company and the CEO of the secondary payor.
