Complaint 1 of 5 in "Medicare / Medicaid Issues"

Insurance Carrier: Aetna
State: Illinois

Consumer Complaint:

Jan 2008 to March 1, my spouse and I were on same policy. In January wife met her annual deductible. In March I became eligible for Medicare. At that time wife was changed to a different policy. Claims submitted since then (June 2008) were applied to deductible on new policy. I called Aetna every month and was assured each time the issue would be resolved. Well this is December and this issue is still not resolved. Of all the different insurance co.'s AT&T has contracted this one is the worst by far.

Insurance Expert Answer:

Have your wife write a polite letter to the head of benefits at AT&T and ask for him/her to help. The policyholder has far more clout and the problem you experienced may be symptomatic of greater problems.
