Article 2 of 2 in Insurers of Last Resort

How does one get coverage from an “insurer of last resort?”

Since the plans are state operated, the procedures vary for accessing “insurer of last resort” coverage. In some states one has to contact an insurance agent and ask them to arrange coverage. Some states allow the applicant to decline the use of an agent and deal directly with the plan by telephone or online. Check with your state plan to see how to proceed.
