Accidently death insurance only pays for accidentaly death.  Therefore if you were to die of a terminal illness, the policy would not pay.  This would not be a good option for mortgage insurance. Please read our article Why Buy Mortgage Life Insurance. Some of the best mortgage insurance is fixed term life.  It can offer a very affordable option for mortgage life insurance.
