Question 10 of 10 in Miscellaneous Questions

I have heard that life insurance premiums for women are lower than the life insurance premiums for men? Is this true? And what is the reason for this?

In most instances, women do usually have lower life insurance premiums than men. When this is not true, it is usually because there is an insurance regulation, company policy, or law that specifies otherwise.

The reason for the lower premiums is that statistics indicate that women tend to live longer than men. As a result, the probability of having to pay a death claim is lower for women at each age.

Insurance companies are therefore able charge women a lower premium than they must charge men for the same amount of life insurance protection.
