Question 2 of 4 in Business Protection

Are policies offered by professional associations a better buy than those offered by insurance agents?

Not necessarily. Association policies are group policies that potentially have the advantage of economies of scale and low marketing costs if they include many association members. The larger the association and the higher the participation rate for the insurance plan, the better the plan may be. Not all such plans are well designed, however. You need to be a wise consumer and compare the coverage in the association plan with what you can obtain from other insurance providers before you buy.
