Question 16 of 42 in Overview

Isn’t travel insurance an unnecessary expense? Do many people actually get paid for their claims?

A recent estimate indicates that between 5% and 10% of people who buy travel insurance actually file claims against the coverage. Some claims for expensive trips or cruises can be for significant amounts of money that the traveler might otherwise have to pay out of his or her own pocket, if not for trip or travel insurance.
