"I had hit a deer out of state. My rates increased even though it was comprehensive. I have NEVER had such issues with getting a claim covered as I did with Mendota. My car was totalled and they gave me 3 days in my rental to get another car. In addition, I had to have the car returned to the original car rental company I had got it from out of state. They did not cover any of my expenses for the 12 hour drive. My agent tried to fight for me but had no success with getting cooperation from the company. I switched companies as soon as the claim was closed. Horrible experience!"

"Mendota is aweful in delaying claim payouts to increase revenues. I have been told by them to expect to wait 2 months for a payout for my damages - this is outrages."

"I had 2 accidents, hit and run (not my fault), while with mendota. The people I talked to were rude and horrible. Not at all helpful. I had a license plate number and a witness for my second hit and run, they said they can't find the car without the year of the car? That sounds like an excuse to me. I am horribly upset at the treatment they gave me. They also charge me $35 and said that was my premium increase. I asked why and they said it's for adding a family member to my policy that i didnt want but was forced to. This company is a total rip off."

"This company is absolutely the most unresponsive organization with which I've ever had the displeasure of attempting to conduct business. One of their insurees wrecked my car in an accident. It took 10 voicemails and finally an email from the phone receptionist to the agent before I was finally contacted. I was finally sent a letter with instructions to get 2 estimates (how I was suppose to do that with an undriveable car, I don't know). It has been over 2 weeks and there has only been that one contact. I've come to the conclusion that the company is absolutely to be avoided. They either don't care or they've got people working for them that need to be terminated. As comparison, GEICO had an adjustor to my car within 4 hours."
