"In 2005 I was in the first auto accident I have ever been in and the accident was caused by a driver, driver over 65 mph and while sending a text message on his cell phone. The driver did not have a valid drivers license and carried minimal insurance. Meaning he was under insured. I have a uninsured/underinsured clause and needed to file a claim with SafeCo. They were rude, hateful and delayed for over two years. I acually had to take them to medation to settle the case. The Safeco rep and company attorney made the experience horrible. Following the case the retired judge who served as an "impartial" "unbiased" mediator took the SafeCo corp rep and attorney out to lunch. I dropped Safeco after more than 15 years and never filing a claim. SafeCo should be OUT OF BUSINESS and they are the worst of the worst Insurance companies. Do yourself a fovor if you carry insurance with SafeCo change NOW!!"

"2009 hail storm hit my subdivision, 15 houses on my street that i can visually see have had hail damaged roofs and were able to get their roofs repaired or replaced. going on 3 months now of waiting and arguing and now i have a roof that leaks which has caused damage to my bathrooms. this company does not have enough money to get more than one adjuster for the area, so when he has a car wreck or his son is sick or he has training to attend to you are out of luck and you have to wait.... i will never use this sorry excuse for a company again!!!!!!!"

"I have both autos and home insurance with Safeco. It used to be a good value for the price until they decided to increase my premiums by 35% for no reason. I tried to contact them multiple times but they do not call back; looks like I will start shopping around..."

"I paid a 6 mos term off a month in advance.
Instead of crediting the monies to clear the contract, Safeco put the additonaal payment on the end of the next 6 month contract and then proceeded to charge me a late fee of $10.00 on top. I called my agent(who can do nothing regarding this) and proceeded to say that I can talk to noone but her. In other words this company can do what ever they want with no consequences. I will complain to the better business bureau.
