"My mother has the home health care policy which was written before they changed the name to Conseco. She is now 98 and needs care. They are refusing to pay saying her provider is not eligible. Also, like others have said, they seem to want more info all the time. My mom still pays every month. They now owe her quite a bit of money. The last letter from this company said I should go to the Illinois Insurance in downtown Chicago to discuss this matter. I hope they will provide me with a lawyer."

"My spouse had a transplant as cancer surgery. They pay according to the difficulty of the surgery $135.00 being the least and $8000.00 as the most difficult. They paid $135.00 for a transplant. They must think a transplant is not very difficult. I would like to know what is difficult if this isn't."

"I have just retired and realized that I have paid almost $10,000 towards two policies-- cancer and heart--and have not filed any claims to date. This policy does not mature till 2021 which equals another $14,000 out of pocket for me. I don't know whether to cut my losses or continue to pay to a company that might not be around in 2021! I called the company today for information and was NOT impressed by their "customer service"."
