"My father and his wife who has passed purchased a LTC Insurance product through Transamerica Occidental Life.They each purchased a policy for themselves after both being the care-givers for their previous spouses.The policies were purchased in 07/2000 and paid promptly every year with an annual premium of 2311.15.In December of 2012 my dad's wife became ill and spent most of the next 3 months in ICU on about 4 days were spent out of the hospital. To make the math a little easier use 2250 for each policy i.e. 4500/yr. This computes to 54000 paid into the policy. The policy guaranteed payments for any necessary equipment and my dad had purchased a portable commode and a walker for his wife when she was release because shewas unable to walk on her own or very far even with a walker. Both claims were denied unknown reasons.Not a dime was paid out because of the terms of the contract. This company/agent preyed on elderlypeople because of their past experiences. I personally contacted the company several times but got nowhere."

"My grandmother paid more than 65000 into a long-term care policy. When she moved into an assisted living facility even though she qualified for coverage they deemed that the facility did not. Six years later she had to be moved to high level care at a memory facility. This facility qualifies for every long-term care policy from every other provider possessed by their residents. Although all paperwork has been provided multiple time AND the facility director has spoken directly with the company they continue to say they are "missing something" to qualify the facility. They have harassed by family with letter after letter telling us that they still are unable to qualify the facility--even though we visited several facilities which they already have qualified in other towns and the level of care IS EXACTLY THE SAME. Well my grandmother passed away and we are still waiting for the facility to be qualified and ONE DIME to be paid. I would never ever use them for any type of insurance. They wear down their insured rather than working with them. They do everything they can to make it difficult on the families. Stay away from this company."

"my husband has had a policy since 1995 for home care.now we are trying to file a claim and they are giving us the run around. the people that answer the phones are the most arrogant the most rude of anyone I have EVER spoken to. we will keep trying until it goes through but I would never recommend them to anyone. Once it goes through I will file a clain with the attorney generals office in texas where they are located."

"This company is not what it represent itself to be. If you are unforunate to file a claim with them they will either pay a partion of it diffrent from what the policy states or it will pay nothing. When calling the claims department those that answer your call is very unprofessional and tend to make you the paying customer feel as though you are harrasing them. I will never refer this company to anyone and kick myself for every year I have actually paid them a penny. Currently I am seeking legal advice and looking into a class action suit against them....Good Luck to any good consumer that rightly pay for something they will likely never receive if needed."
