"Under SR-22, mistyped routing number led to my policy (that was being changed from one state to another) being canceled 3 weeks before first notification. The state has served me with a cease driving letter, because Progressive sends the state the info, even though I'm paying for the SR-22 filing. I could have been in jail, due to a typo, and they couldn't let me know faster? "

"If you ever have the misfortune of filing a claim through Progressive (i had my car stolen) be prepared to be re-victimized! They harrassed my 86 year old grandmother - who had nothing to do with my claim - to the point where i had to take her to the emergency room for her blood pressure- Why- they wanted her to look for my spare key - which she had no clue of where it was because i had it. "Please people, when you read the double talk in your policy, know that the only one being protected by this company is the company. Why else would we need to read and re-read and then hire a psycic to make sure all your bases are covered. I believe that the words "full coverage" should be just that, with out all the ways that the insurence company builds into our policy so they don't have to pay."

"Have been with Progressive for nearly 5 years. They have given me the best rates of all insurance companies and their customer service has always been good. I made a glass claim back in 2006 and they sent a glass company out to my job 2 days later to replace my windshield (no out of pocket expense due to Florida law and a waived claim on my policy). I made my second claim this past week. It has been a bit nervewracking as neither myself or Progressive is sure the at fault driver has valid insurance or not. However my claims adjuster and the service center have been awesome in letting me know what steps I need to take if her insurance comes back invalid. Only downside is their Tampa Bay service center is located way out in the sticks which is a 35 minute drive from downtown Tampa and 35 minutes from St. Petersburg. "

"Was rear-ended at red light by some one driving at a high speed (45 mph zone) who was talking on cell phone. Suffered brain injury , 9 herniated disks, polyradiculopathy, Fibromygla (sp?) and now have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and can't drive. Neurologist said that if not for the accident, the MS would have probably never came out in my lifetime. Current brain MRI says I have multiple lesions and signal abnormalities consistant with MS. Progressive paid lost wages for a year before being sent to their paid-off quack (who is legally protected in Michigan), who examined me for 5 minutes and said nothing was wrong with me and there were nothing but lies through the whole report. They then cut off my lost wages (which Michigan No-Fault law entitles you to 3 years of paid wages (85%) and unlimited medical) and my claim was denied and closed. And then come to find out, none of medical bills were paid by them (I had my own primary insurance at the time and Progressive was secondary) (now in collection and my credit has been destroyed). Everytime I see a Progressive commercial, I want to through something at the TV. It makes me sick that their profits are in the billions and now my healthcare (Medicaid) and bills will need to be paid by taxpayers and other community services. I even had extra underinsurance/uninsurance coverage in case someone hit me that didn't have insurance or did not have enough liability insurance. What the hell did I pay extra for? Nothing!!! I will probably lose my home since I can't work. They may pay out claims to damaged vehicles, but not for injuries. I even called State of Michigan's Insurance office who regulates these insurance companies and was told they couldn't do anything. Go find an attorney is what they told me. Don't get fooled by their hip commercials. They are probably the worst out there for unpaid injury claims. I am going to try to round up people (voulnteers)who have also been denied serious injury claims in Michigan or anybody that wants to help, to do a video (cannot do by myself) on current Michigan law and the changes that need to be made for injuries from accidents (it has passed in the house and now goes to the Senate (who will probably shoot it down). About 95% (probably more) of serious injuries are denied in the county courts and never make it to a jury because they don't meet the current threshholds (which are absolutely ridiculous). If anybody is interested in the making of the video, please leave an email address on here so I can contact you. If you are from Progressive insurance company, I don't want to hear from you unless it is positive (which I doubt). Also, beware that these insurance companies watch for anything an injured person might post on the interent that they can use against them. P.S. I had someone type this for me. Also, dropped my insurance with Progressive after they closed my claim and went with another before I couldn't drive anymore. "

"If you are in an accident with a progressive claim holder, get a lawyer. My case has been passed to three progressive repesentitives so far as the first two quit. The second woman dealing with my case actually advised me that progressive WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF. She said they lie and do all they can to give you the least amount of money possible. She was tired of working for progressive-the lies and deception were incongruent with who she was as a person. A few days later, I found out she quit. Sure enough, when it came time to settle, they offered my 1/4 the dollar amount of what I later found out I should have received. Get a lawyer. Don't belive what they tell you because it's their job to give you the least amount of money possible."

"recently I got renewalletter from Progressive. Premium has been increased, (There is no changein driving record from first time when they wrote m insurance.) I called customer service for explanation. 1. Initially I was tolsby representaive that, On line discount is applied when I signed up initialy. ACtually I got quote by ohone, I dont know how they apllied discount. 2.She says as Milk prices changes every day so as insurance quote. I insisted on talking to super visor. He reviewed whole case and said , it is tue that you did not sign onlie to apply discount but it was applied. He is help less, Why premium increased with out change in driving history and no claims. Answer: Recently premiums has been increased, various things wlll be considered. Q: What is specific reason for increasing premium. No Answer. He is explaing general situation. Q: why I was cheated with lesser insurance quote by applying discount for online sign up , even though I purchasedinsurane on phone. This is the way converstaion went. Dont beleive these guys, while getting insurance try to get all details and if you renew in future , what consitiond iwll be applied."

"I got rearended on 10/30/2006 by a guy going 47 miles per hour in a merging lane i was stopped because the vehicle in front of me was stopped. he hit me so hard i hit my head on the rear window of my truck at least 3 times. police came made out report and sent it in, they responded very quickly to the repair of the vehicle, but don't have a claim for an injury because they treat you like crap. they sent a representative out to my house and three times he asked me how much my injury was worth to me.and each time i told him the same thing i am not signing anything because i don't know what is wrong with my neck and shoulder. he quit bugging me but then the phone calls from the insurance company started. they offered me, for my loss wages $50.00 and I make a little bit less than that per hour. I told them that they shouldn,t be so generous as I might need a few groceries inbetween and then I asked this rep if she would accept the offer and she said no because it was outlandish. I said thank you and that she answered my questions for me, and we will not be talking anymore. It is almost a year later and i have had a ct scan and 2 mri's and also went to one of their paid off doctors who told me to my face at the examination that i would benefit greatly from deep traction. Then he sends a report to my attorney that there isn't anything wrong with me. O gees I wonder how he sleeps at night knowing that he is paid to lie.I still have headaches and a lot of neck pain some days good and some days bad that I have to use a home traction unit "

"motorcycle was stolen and they refused to pay the comp value after I brought in hundreds of like vehicles. instead they based the comp off of ONE sale hundreds of miles away for a different model of motorcycle. argued with claims adjustor for 2 months before giving in, then bank refused payment of settlement check because of amount and adjustor was forced to increase it. they were a pain to work with, and I found out the policy doesn't mean what they sell it to you as. I had receipts and photos of custom chrome parts and my policy was supposed to have insurance on them in case of theft. the fine print reads that it pays out only if the vehicle is recovered and declared a total loss. bunch of BS if you ask me, which is why I will never be back."

"After being insured with them for 4 years, they suddenly were unable to obtain driving record. Provided it to them in August 2006 (in other words, did their job for them)Repeat, July 2007!!!! Changed drivers drivers history to 0 years driving experience and wanted to charge over $1400 per month! This came on the heels of the letter from them stating that they were rescinding their previous termination of our policy that they had notified us of (NEVER SAW IT!) because we no longer lived out of state. I never moved out of state, let alone moved back!!!! Where do they come up with this stuff? Why can they no longer obtain a driving record and claim there is no driving history on an individual they have been insuring for over 4 years? How do they determine that a person who has not moved at all, let alone out of state, has moved to Arizona? To add insult to injury, while trying to sort this mess out and outrageous premium charges due to their ineptness, we were late paying our premium, however when we did pay the 6 month premium, they accepted the payment via phone payment and the money was removed from my bank account. Then they changed the date of the policy after the fact and claimed there was a lapse in coverage! Yet I NEVER received any correspondence stating my insurance was terminated nor did they write a new policy when they changed the date of my coverage period. Now they refuse to to provide an FS-1 for the DMV and I was not notified about any lapse in coverage until 45 days after the lapse occurred! Yet there was no mention of this when they accepted the payment. In order to make a payment, one needs an policy number, if I had no insurance how did can they take my money and apply the payment to a policy that had lapsed? Furthermore after taking time from work, twice in the past year, and driving over 60 miles to the closests DMV office to provide them with a drivng record they still almost 30 days later continued to send bills for over $1400 per month, due to a lack of driving history! These folks are truly incompetant even when it pertains to the simplest of issues! Beware they may have moved you out of state to, if not they still may decide to make you an inexperienced driver despite the fact that you have been driving for 30+ years and then try to charge you $1400 a month and take your money and after the fact claim you had a lapse in coverage! RUN from Proggressive as fast as you can!!! It is a living nightmare! Every time you think you have it fixed, it rears its ugly head again and again! It is akin to being in the movie Groundhog Day, everyday you deal with it and just when you think it is finally resolved, it starts all over again! "

"I was rear ended (no fault of my own) by a woman who had Progressive insurance. She took responsibility for the accident and I had to deal with Progressive. This has been a total nightmare. They convinced me to take it to their choice of body shop and demanded that I let them replace the bumper on my 2006 BMW with a re-manufactured bumper because it was cheaper for them. They told me if I got a new bumper I would have to pay the difference (which was not the case). They refused to do anything different so I got my car back and took it to the body shop of my choice. They turned it around in 48 hours with a new bumper. Everyone I have spoken with at Progressive is horribly rude, confrontational and unreasonable. Fortunately the body shop I used was great and told me to stay out of the loop and they would fight this for me. They are used to dealing with Progressive and go through this type of situation every day with them."

"my fiance was in an accident not his fault and suffered whiplash and damages around 2500 to his celica. He decided to use the "concierge" service which seems ideal, a rental car is given and they take care of everything for you. I believe there is a reason this sounds too good to be true. When he picked up his car after repair he realized although the damage of the impact was fixed; a new front accident had occured. Upon talking to the service center they stated it was his fault and interogated him. When he spoke to the rep she said she would look into, the phone message we just received stated "I'm sorry but it is really inconclusive and I don't think the service people are making it up." Needless to say we will be calling the BBB and getting a lawyer involved so others do not need to go through this frustrating and totally unfair sittuation! "

"I was in an accident where I was merging toward a toll booth and a tractor trailer hit me from behind because instead of letting me merge - he kept inching forward until he was on top of my trunk. He admitted on the police report to hitting me - he gave a statement to his insurance that he hit me - however progressive still couldn't "Close" this case in my favor... after 3 months and no word from them I called my insurance agent and they said they couldn't reach the other driver's company so they could get the insurance info --- I spent 7 minutes online and looked for the drivers company - not only did I find all of the valid phone numbers - but I then called progressive and gave them phone numbers and addresses - after 8 months of my insurance fighting his insurance in an OPEN and SHUT case - somehow noone could figure out who's fault it was and I lost my WHOLE deductible... What is the point of insurance if I HAVE TO DO ALL THE WORK!"

"I had progressive for about 3 years when I was hit broad side on the driver's side by a large commercial truck. At the time of the accident my vehicle had to be towed on a flatbed truck. I told them to take it to the only place I could think of - the dealer - about a mile away. The next few days progressive's adjuster told us we had to have it towed to one of their shops. I went to the dealer and told them that. They said no, you have the choice to leave it here. I preferred to do that rather than send it to some random shop I had no knowledge of. Progressive's adjuster was relentless in trying to make us send it to their shop, which made us more adament to leave it at the dealer. We later found out that the agent assigned 60% of the accident to me, despite the fact that I was hit by a truck driving in a non driving lane, I was sitting still, I had the right of way. I have had 2 surgeries on my rotator cuff due to this accident, very painful I might add, a year of physical therapy, also painful. I contacted an attorney and will hopefully get this case resolved soon. Progressive is definitely not worth whatever you pay them if they are going to treat you like this if & when something happens. I have switched to Farmers. "

"Progressive nickel & dimed me like no other. I signed up because I got a great online quote, but a week or so later, I got a notice stating that I owed them more money (I still don't know why). Later, I added my boyfriend to my policy, which led to a significant increase in my policy; when I called to find out why, I was told that since he had been in an accident (NOT his fault; he was rear ended) that my premium increased. I took him off my insurance, but was still charged $15 for him being insured for 1 day. It is now time to renew, and my premium has gone up nearly $100 since I first signed. I've not gotten any tickets, nor have I been in any accidents. I checked with GEICO, and paid $100 less than what Progressive is charging me. Plus, with GEICO, I have MORE coverage for LESS money. Needless to say, I cancelled my Progressive policy immediately after I was approved through GEICO."

"I would not normally advertise for a company but I have recently had a really amazing customer service experience I have a lot to say about my recent experience with my car insurance company, Progressive I LOVE PROGRESSIVE After my car wreck last Thursday I was in a lot of pain and very stressed about what would happen to my car, my health, the impact it would have on my daily life, bills, medical costs etc.. etc... Thank you to Progressive my life is so much more pleasant and less stressful at this point I called to make a claim the next day with their claims department. I was not on hold very long and did not have to talk to 20 million computer voices while pressing buttons before I could speak to a person. The gentleman was very courteous and went above and beyond in his empathy and consideration. He expressed concern for my well-being and the outcome of the accident. Sure this is his job, but phone service representatives usually just do what is required of them with very little positive affect in their voice or attitude. He asked what had happened and the whole time had a very sincere concerned tone "Oh wow, that is awful... you are so lucky it wasn't worse...thank goodness you are ok etc... " He was very calming and helpful He provided any contact numbers I may need and explained the full process of taking care of my claim. He located the nearest body shop for me and called them with me on the line to make the earliest appointment at my convenience. He constantly made sure everything was clear, simple, and without any problems. He provided me with a number to call him directly if I should have any issues. It continued to be an easy and smooth process... When I arrived at the body shop the progressive representative promptly called the rental service then proceeded to go over the damages of the car with me while taking clear photos and checking every little detail. They listened carefully and also seemed concerned. The representative from Hertz arrived very quickly and drove me to the rental location. They were also friendly and clearly explained every part of the rental and what part Progressive covered as well as what my options were with gas, daily insurance etc... Daily insurance for the rentals was usually $25.00 to cover any damage that may occur to the vehicle while in your possession. However, because I was there through Progressive, it only cost me $12.99 daily. This meant that no matter what happened to the vehicle, from a small scratch to it being totaled, I was only responsible for that $12.99 and not held liable. Progressive would also call and extend the rental for me if necessary, so I simply get the keys to a car equivalent to my own or more and drive it for as long as I need. I ended up with an 08 Ford Fusion with dash board controls on the steering wheel, a navigation system, Sirius satellite radio, and an in dash 6cd player :) and get to drive it for the length of my repair at no cost to me accept gas and the optional daily insurance. and there is more... Saturday another representative from Progressive called me. This time an equally kind and considerate woman. She was the one to handle my injuries and personal health coverage. She explained that Progressive will cover 80% of all costs including my x-rays, ambulance ride, ER fees, Cat Scan, and even prescriptions. They would file all the paperwork with the hospital then send paperwork to my health insurance company for the remaining balance. All I had to do was. send them copies of my prescription receipts. She expressed concern and told me not to "over-do-it" at work and to call her if I needed help with anything. She also told me she would call me in a few days to see how I was feeling. Even better, Progressive is reimbursing me for the days I missed at work due to the accident, all I had to do was send copies of my last two paychecks, they even phoned my manager at work for me. This is not my first positive experience with Progressive, last time I just needed some body work after a car battery was left in the road and destroyed my front fender...they had the same great service with a rental...but this time with the medical issues they just knocked my socks off with amazing customer service. in short... if it is in your budget to switch car insurance companies, I strongly suggest looking into rates for Progressive. They are one of the less expensive companies and they also have included pet insurance for your pets traveling with you along with motorcycle, RV, Boat, and other types of insurance. their kindness and amazing guest service has won me over it may be their job, but they do it well and I feel safer and more can at ease because of it ..so anyway... if you want to be worry free in a situation that be devastating, Progressive can help! "

"Ok I am torn here? Wonderful experience the whole time with Progressive they have always taken care of me and when I had my claim they jumped to it like magic and before you know it my loan was paid and so was I. Then I go to replace the motorcycle and they quote me $168 so I say great add it. I buy the motorcycle and then check my profile online it still has the wrecked one and no sign of the new one. I call in to find out what is going on and they tell me they still have to add the new motorcycle? What? Ok. They tell me I gave them the wrong VIN? So, how did they quote me wrong the model did not change based on the VIN? A Ninja 500 is a Ninja 500. Told $168 and now I am being told $460?? HELLO??? Nothing changed in less than a week? I will not renew with them at this point. Markel American is Quoting $235 including the accident. $230 for the priviledge of being lied to. "

"My family has used Progressive for years. Yes the rates are higher but whenever there was an accident (even on Christmas Eve) they were always right there and everything generally went very quickly and smoothly. My grandmother, mother, great-aunt etc. all have had insurance with Progressive, I couldn't afford it and went with a diff. company... big diff. I'm going back to Progressive."

"The customer service rep didnt tell me the options that I can have different deductibles for comprehensive and collision coverage. Also, didnt tell me that I need to add car rental seperate even when you say you want the full coverage. The claim department was great for the liability claims but when I had to get my car fixed under comprehensive coverage, it was a hassle. The insurance co. say its not there fault, the repair shop says its not their fault, but I am upset with both of them because I had to go though so much and be without a car for a whole week."

"we insured our car for 1 month, but a minimum of 2 months had to be payed. the friendly staff told us we would be refunded without a cancellation fee after 1 month, which all worked out very well. as two young students we had a hard time insuring our Cobra convertible, but progressive were willing to help. good service. we did not make any claims though. "

"Woe be it to he/she who finds that their credit score has suffered. One claim filed (my parked car hit) during entire Progressive coverage - but that didn't raise my premium. Total of 5 years with Progressive. In the end, my credit got trashed due to failed business & lousy business partner. No tickets ever during. 1 minor accident lifetime- more than 15 yrs ago. "My car was broadsided by another car running a red light. Since the accident was not my fault, Progressive refused to take care of anything. Progressive told me to file a claim against the party at fault's insurance. So, in essence, if you have an accident and it's your fault, they probably are better than in one where it's not your fault. I was completely on my own. Had to hire an attorney to communicate with the other insurance company and of course his fees were most of the costs. I was under the stupid impression that one's own insurance company handled the process and claims. NOT SO! As well, the claims agent was extremely rude to me. She screamed on the phone "What do you want us to do. We have no responsibility in this." "

"I know that the only time that people take the time to write reviews or give their comments is when they are upset, with that said I write many positive reviews about companies and I can say that Progressive insurance POSITIVELY SUCKS...... The claim adjusters are nothing but robbers. I was helping a friend with there claim (I run a car dealership) and the Progressive Claim adjusters did nothing but lie me to RE market conditions and values from the get go. They faxed me quotes of 4 or 5 like vehicles that they based there values on 2 had bad car fax reports ( ie completely rebuilt near salvage vehicles) Other we from a different state that allows the sale of as is vehicles,They did not want to pay the claim based on NADA ( industry standard guide) Kelly blue book or actual vehicles for sale. They are however a bright company that realizes that most consumer will not spend alot of time and effort to acutually stand up for themselves Needless to say I would not recomend them for any reason what so ever. I guess that the saying you get what you pay for is very true especially with insurance."

"I have had two claims two months apart - neither at my fault. Progressive was absolutely great in helping with my claims. The first was a fender bender with only about $1000 worth of damage, the other driver's insurance claimed liability progressive waived my deductible and took care of everything. I was able to take my car to the service center, everyone was very professional - picked it up a week later like brand new. My most current claim was a hit and run outside my residence. Again, took it into the service center they called me yesterday to tell me what they had found, what would need to be done and when it would be ready. I got another call today letting me know that they found more damage on the suspension once they took the panel off and it would take a couple more days to fix. Also, they found missed welding spots from an accident a few years ago (again - not my fault), but fixed by Progressive so they are fixing those as well! (as they should since they guarantee their work) All I can say is that I am very happy to be with them. It has now been about 4 years that I've had coverage with them, my rates have steadily decreased every 6 mos. I had been thinking about shopping around for better rates but with the service that I've received in the past few months, I've decided that I don't mind paying a few extra dollars. I'll be sticking with Progressive."

"I was very happy with Progressive because their prices are the best. When I got in my accident, I found out why. They didn't pay my physican correctly. My doctor was very thorough and spent well over an hour with me, even on my followups. I live in Florida and did some research and found out that because of the personal injury law, there is a rule that insurance companies have to pay based on medicare pricing. But my stupid company instead of paying what the doctor billed (and I thought he should have gotten) they said that my case was not complex enough or he shouldn't have spent the time that he did with me. I was scared and had a lot of questions and he really helped me out. I can see why doctors don't want to accept insurance from people anymore. Insurance companies, especially Progressive based in Tampa, Florida, are robbers without the guns."

"I love Progressive..... My car was parked in a parking lot and was hit.....called progressive...was asked to take my car to a shop of my choice and call them back with details.....Damage was $3700.00 Claim was settled in 1 week flat.... AWESOME!!!!!!!!! It only got better.....it was time to renew my policy....i was afraid that the premium might go up..... instead.....i got a $74 discount SWEEEET :) I have been with them for 5 years.....I was recently considering changing my policy to another company that would save me $200 every 6 months....I decided against it :) Progressive RULES!!!!!"

"I have a small, 22', RV built on a Freightliner Chassis. The first month I had the vehicle I backed up into a wall which I didn't see. I now have a backup camera on the van. There was 2,800 damage to the unit. Progressive's agent examined the damage while at a repair facility of my choice. The damage was repaired in a timely manner and paid directly to the repair facility. We just paid the deductible. Our original rate was $650, the bill came last week and they raised the rate to $1,100. Am in a quandry as to staying with them. Looked into AARP Hartford but there were so many really terrible reviews that I don't know what to do at this point in time.. Probably will stay with Progressive."

"There Claims reps are very rude. Even the managers think they know it all. They try to scam you if they can. Also get a lawyer involved to talk to them. They lie alot. "
