"They charge too much and continually increase rates on auto and homeowner policies. They have poor customer service and no loyalty to longterm customers. " 2007-11-16 12:18:32 EST
"We had Nationwide for a year and a half before my wife had a wreck and we had to make a claim. Our agent was wonderful, but the claims adjuster was ridiculous. Somewhere along the way he just stopped paying all of our COVERED medical expenses...we started getting deliquency letters from companies for $35 and $200.
After two months of constant conversation and complaining with our agent, they told me that our case had been moved to another person and the adjuster had been fired.
All we got was an apology from our agent. In my mind, they should have given us some sort of discount or something. We paid every premium on time and were loyal customers. We received over 5 deliquency letters in the mail from debt collectors. In the end they were all taken care of...but what are we paying all this money for if not to be taken care of properly!" 2007-06-26 16:57:30 EST
"I learned that I am suppose to have the contractor negociate with the adjuster a repair fee after damage to my house. My contractor never heard of such a thing and said that his price was fair and would not lower it. " 2007-06-30 08:52:07 EST
"I was getting ripped off by my contractor. My adjuser went in and was able to show where my contractor, who swore up and down that he was giving a fair price, charged for things he never even touched. Was able to negotiate a fair price. He even brought us flowers at the end of the experience to wish us well. I'll never leave!" 2007-07-18 23:33:10 EST
"I have had this insurance company for 15 years. We are building a house which was broken into and power tools and building material was stolen. We specifically asked our agent when we took out the policy when we were building if we were covered for theft and we were assured we were. Now they are claiming that it is not covered because we aren't living in the house yet. " 2007-07-24 13:44:03 EST
"My agent and staff has the best customer services for his clients. Here in North Carolina they are true by their logo - they are on your side." 2007-08-01 18:48:31 EST
"Very good claims department" 2007-08-06 12:27:03 EST
"I have been very satisfied with Nationwide, but I have not had to file a claim yet; I may feel differently once I have to do that." 2007-08-06 16:34:20 EST
"Agent never corresponds with me
Homeowners Policy keeps changing...just a few sheets from a word processor
Raised my Umbrella Policy $100/ year ..3 years in a row.! No claims made" 2007-08-08 19:49:03 EST
"poor customer service, only cared about their almighty dollar." 2007-08-20 05:46:04 EST
"So far, I felt the rates were comparable but I've bought another, newer car and did some shopping. Safeco was the cheapest, then Allstate but after reading these reviews, I think I'll stay with Nationwide. The grass is not greener and cheaper doesn't mean better." 2007-08-21 16:05:58 EST
"Excellent customer service - I've had multiple changes on multiple policies and the phone reps have always been exceptional. " 2007-09-09 19:40:43 EST
"Auto claim adjuster was switched mid-claim. New adjuster impossible to reach, and when finally met in person, had a attitude as he was doing the customer a favor. When I tried to give adjuster accident evidence, refused it saying he was starting vacation and another department would be contacting me. They never did, a I finally called 6 or 7 numbers at the main office. My broker was useless, as he said he is not part of the claims operation. Guess he is just there to write policy and collect your money.
When the company contacted me later, it was with an employee that has English as a second language. Still waiting for that persons findings 2 and a half weeks later. JUST don't be later with the premiums or the real power of nationwide kicks in and will reek havoc with your mind." 2007-09-25 02:10:25 EST
"When I purchased a new car I immediately called and added the vehicle to my policy. I asked my agent AT THAT TIME, the amount I needed to send in to cover the increase in costs. I deployed and did not keep up with my mail for two months. When I returned (After paying the premiums I was told by my agent would be needed) my insurance had lapsed. When I confronted my agent they denied ever telling me the cost of the additional vehicle. Even when I showed them that I had increased my monthly payments to cover the new vehicle (based on what they told me to pay) they still denied responsibility. I had to pay fees to the state for allowing my covereage to lapse. " 2007-10-01 09:24:38 EST
"Nationwide auto insurance was fine but the home insurance was a total waste. Had policies with them for 37 years and no claims when we had hail damage they refused to pay. The employee that notified us actually laughed and made a joke about it. Our agent tried to help but got nowhere." 2007-10-02 15:25:12 EST
"I'm sure this is the way with all the moneybrokers, but after filing a claim my rates went up.
And after not having a ticket in twenty-five years, I got a speeding ticket, they raised my rates.
Insurance companies are all rip-offs. They take your money as long as they don't have to pay anything out and as soon as they do, they try there damnedest to not pay and then raise your rates." 2007-10-03 15:40:45 EST
"Expensive insurance, had to pay deductible even when the other person was at fault, inattention to detail by the adjuster." 2007-10-11 17:37:20 EST
"Nationwide of Florida is a BIG JOKE. They send in people to review your home now. It is called The Home Care Review and if you refuse they cancel your policy. Is that legal? According to The State of Florida's Insurance Commission this is unheard of. Well, it is when they cancel your policy!! If I have the State compile a "complaint," will they still cancel me or do we toss the dice and let them into our home and hope they still have not canceled our policy in time to go over to Citizens Insurance, which is not made for that purpose! Over 4 years with Nationwide in another State and 15 years with them in Florida! All they have do cover in Florida is FIRE, NO WINDSTORM OR FLOOD INSURANCE ANY LONGER, BUT THEY WANT YOUR AUTO INS.! Nationwide is on my side I do not think so!" 2007-10-15 17:22:11 EST
"I have been with nationwide for 36 years. I only had to use them a few times in all these years. I was hit in the rear twice and hit head on and totaled my car in April.
T.B. that works for nationwide was the rudest medical person I have ever dealt with. Because I was not completely well within the 3-6months they allow to get well they wanted me turned over to MES. She would call me at work and say things like don't use up all your money or maybe you better see one of our guys. When are you going to be released she would hound me at work continuosly. Then she would tell my agent she never said to me
I did not tell you that she could not use up all her Medical Money. In the meantime I have paid medical for 36 years and when I need to use them they same as said you get well in 3 months or no insurance. Why have I been paying them for 36 years. I am definietly looking for another insurance. My family of 11 have been with Nationwide for years but we no longer will be with Nationwide anymore. Also she would call the Dr. and say you better release her or else.
" 2007-10-23 10:00:25 EST
"I was hit by a drunk driver insured by Nationwide and they denied my claim. This in spite of the fact that the drunk driver was arrested and listed as the at-fault driver and police found an open bottle of liquor in a brown paper bag stashed under his front seat. So guess what? Nationwide didn't pay a cent to anyone. It's the worst insurance company in the nation." 2007-10-23 20:07:02 EST
"Nationwide is NOT on my side! Their "Blue Ribbon" repair shop deal is a joke. I was rear-ended by an uninsured driver this month. I submitted my claim, and was steered to a blue ribbon repair shop, all the while being assured that I would be satisfied with the repair work, and that they would not stop until I was satisfied. However, the repair shop did not properly replace the bumper. The FIRST time I went to pick up my car, the "new" bumper was already damaged, the repair shop had painted it a different shade than the rest of my car, the "clearances" between the bumper and rest of the car were about 1 in. (which is ridiculous), the repair shop chipped paint off the newly painted bumper, and they chipped paint off the quarterpanel, which they were not supposed to even touch. I refused to accept this work. The SECOND time I went to pick up my car, the bumper was not aligned with the car (still) and the repair shop "blended" the paint onto the quarter panel, added a clear coat, to make the bumper blend with the car. Now the bumper and quarterpanels are a shade darker than the doors, trunk, and rest of the car. Nationwide's re-adjustor and my agent told me that Nationwide did not have to make paint match. Apparently, they just have to replace the bumper, and, in the words of both men, "bumpers never match; that's as good as its going to get." I asked why they couldn't blend the paint on the entire car and they told me that would cost too much money - Nationwide won't pay more than the bare minimum. I repeatedly asked about why they told me I would be satisfied over and over, but when I wasn't satisfied, they didn't care to resolve the issues. Both the re-adjustor and my (former) agent were RUDE and told me I was lucky they did anything at all. I just wanted to be put in the position I was in before someone hit my car. That's all - no more, no less. If the paint doesn't match, the car is still damaged. Nationwide doesn't see it that way. I feel that Nationwide colludes with its blue ribbon repair shops to do shoddy work in a quick amount of time to save money. I think their practices are deceptive, in that they advertise customer satisfaction, but don't really care to comply. " 2007-10-25 11:57:08 EST
"Extremly good company to get insurance from. Settled the claim very next day. Nothing could be much better than that. Premium was too hogh so have to go with someother insurance company." 2007-10-26 19:57:23 EST
"WHen I've filed a claim with Nationwide, they have been on the ball. They have kept contact with me on a regular basis and they repaired my vehicle quickly. They also have an endorsement for Original Manufactured Parts, which not all companies have. " 2007-11-13 11:22:07 EST
"We had a major hail storm with baseball size hail and larger, but nationwide will not repair my roof. Several estimates from roofers and Nationwide will only accept one company that works for them. Several other homes have already had their roofs replaced. Stay away from Nationwide!!!!!!!" 2007-11-13 22:18:19 EST
"Nationwide practices illegal tie-in sales practices. They required me to drop Geico and purchase their auto insurance at much higher prices before they would insure my home. Then they dropped my homeowners, although I had no claims. No loyalty, shady business practices and an uncaring attitude mark this company. Avoid." 2007-11-28 06:23:59 EST
"Only company I've been with, my parents and grandparents were with them since the 50's. However my parents decided to shop around and saved a significant amount moving all their policies to another company. I just think they're over priced. Of the two claims I've made they went smoothly. The thing I don't understand is what the actual agent does besides collect money. When you submit the claim you dial a 800 number and they take care of it." 2007-11-29 18:44:25 EST
"horrible, unsafe collision repair policies.will not put origonal manufacturer parts on my car only inferior parts from tiawan" 2007-12-01 00:06:24 EST
"bad business if you need them will not help at all." 2007-12-05 21:18:47 EST
"Love 'em!" 2007-12-07 22:41:59 EST
"After a hail storm in 2001, my neighbors were still working with their insurance companies. The adjuster from Nationwide had been out, inspected my home and given me a check to perform the repairs to my roof, fence and gutters. " 2007-12-10 19:09:20 EST
"First claim for emergency towing was settled quick and easy. Last claim they had dropped the coverage without telling me so I didn't realize I was not covered." 2007-12-12 13:47:57 EST
"I had a collision claim on my vehicle 7 years ago that went way bad, Mostly due to their direct repairer. They just botch every thing on a 6 month old car. I have had 2 claims on my home ( hail damage & hit by lighnting)where i was very satisfied with both claims, I just recently had to use their glass claims due to our vehicle having been shot. Safelite was came to our house and did an excellent job, Ist thing the next business day! Very pleased with them!" 2007-12-18 10:05:31 EST
"Rates are climbing much faster than my income. Agent NEVER calls me. Every year my premiums are massively increased.!
I'm looking for a better deal in 2008" 2007-12-18 20:22:35 EST
"Over the last thirdteen years I have had 1 claim,a auto.A deer ran out in front of my Explorer causing damage to the front bumper, grill, header panel, headlight, valance panel, parking light and the hood.
Nation Wide uses reconditioned and aftermarket parts they call it the Nationwide Parts Program-NWPP or the Nationwide Crash Parts Program-NWCPP.
With all this being said they are not OEM part, but they will replace any defective like and quality(used) parts for as long as you own the vehicle.
The problem is I took my vehicle to a(BLUE RIBBON Repair Center) a Ford Dealership .
After about a week I went to pick up my Explorer and took it home late in the day.The next morning I drove to work and after finishing you daily dutys I went to look at the work. The tag bracket was missing, bumper was pointing down, header pandel had gaps on both sides, one side of the pandal had no paint on it, and the right side fender had two big dents in it.
At this point I will say something good about the work. The grill looked good and the hood looked good except for the paint runs on them.So after sending the dealership and Nation Wide nine e-mails I was told to bring my SUV back.
The next day I took it back and after showing the problems to them I was told that some people would think that the work was good and wouldn't have anything bad to say and because Nation Wide approved the uses of NWPP or NWCPP that the parts didn't always line up and may not ever line up.
I understand that the dealership cann't make chickin soap out of chickin sh.. and that the money for the work is being payed my the insurance companys. But the people that pay for the insurance is people like me. IN MY MIND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND IN MY MIND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FIGHT WITH THE REPAIR SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
" 2007-12-26 14:38:40 EST
"Get quotes from other companies...you will see how unreasonable Nationwide is. I saved $1700 a year, yes seventeen hundred dollars a year in switching. They are the king of aftermarket parts useage and many body shops will refuse to work on Nationwide vehicles. They are horrible to work with and are being sued by tons of individuals and groups. They are also the king of Insurnace Department complaints...go away, far away from Nationwide. " 2008-01-04 19:14:37 EST
"A suicide took place in a bathroom and the body deteriorated, causing extensive damage to the room. Although the homeowners policy covered "bio-hazard cleanup", the company twisted its definitions and denied coverage. " 2008-01-13 17:40:31 EST
"I had been a policy holder for 20 years and at one point I lapsed on my payment. No emails, no letters, no calls where ever attempted to check with me before canceling the policy and I drove around for several months with no coverage. When I got into an accident and called they told me I am no longer covered and really could care less and did not even bother to try and explain why they never tried to contact a long term policy holder. To reinstate me would cost 4 times what I was paying. So to me it seemed a good excuse to remove a long term policy holder with reduced long term rates and than bring me back for much much more. I will never go back to nationwide or use them and they now excessive rates. " 2008-01-29 19:27:34 EST
"I filed a claim with NW insurance..The policy holder was at fault for accident, that's why I filed with NW. What a nightmare from day 1. My witness was not called until I had to prove it was on the police report, no one went to inspect my car for 15 days, the supv was annoyed that I contacted her. etc etc etc (I will tell everyone I can,not to purchase any insurance with Nationwide." 2008-01-30 02:24:26 EST
"ON home up north service was great! In Florida, continually raised rates and dropped long term customers. The were not on you side ever. Be wise, shop around, select a carriere that is State based, and raited by the State, but do not select Nationwide, as they have zero loyality to long term customers!" 2008-02-15 00:02:11 EST
"find yourself another company" 2008-02-08 12:12:19 EST
"Claims are handled quickly and easily" 2008-02-19 13:48:26 EST
"Do not go with Nationwide. They have terrible business practices and rescinded our insurance when we put in a claim. Run the other direction or get a good lawyer." 2008-02-21 19:16:00 EST
"They are prompt with insurance claims, they are extremely informative, I can call them with insurance questions not pertaining to my policies and they go out of their way to help me find the answers or a soultion. I know Nationwide cost a little more but it is well worth not having the frustration of dealing with these cheeper insurance companies that try not to take ownership of their clients accidents. In 9 years I have never been let down by Nationwide. " 2008-07-09 21:23:28 EST
"Insurance Companies across the board are killing the recovery of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. On a $250,000 home we are paying $3,900.00 for wind and hail, $1,500 for fire and theft and $320.00 for flood. We had NO damage in Katrina so why did our rate go up???? Plus we are paying $2,500 in property taxes per year. That is a grand total of $8,220 per year for T&I for a monthly payment of $685. How can these criminal destroy detroyed lives even more. I hope one day they will answer for their crimes against devasted people!!! Maybe not in this life but I have a firm belief they will in their next!!!!!!!!!" 2008-02-25 12:43:42 EST
"right the service i get from this company is good modern trends with information technology are used there so there service is a one that every one will like to atronise." 2008-03-06 04:52:32 EST
"Daughter's car demolished by another person who also has Nationwide insurance. They will not pay but one week car rental, will not pay for all the items she had in the car which were destroyed. They won't even give her the bluebook price of what her car was worth. She was bruised and batter and laid up for a week so the insurance company went and cleaned out the car without her permission and charged her $150 for the cleaning service and now they say we can't prove that she had anything lost in the crash because they threw it all away. She was hit from behind and the car was split in two. All they want to give her for the car is $4200 and the blue book price is $4500. No money to cover rental fees or items lost in the car. And the accident wasn't her fault. If you get hit by someone, pray that the person responsible for hitting you doesn't have the same insurance company as they just don't want to pay out anything, even when it wasn't your fault. Couldn't get any answers from the agent and asked to speak to the supervisor. He basically told me I didn't know anything and was very rude. He said to go to the Ohio Department of Transportation and read about the laws on the rental car. If you can find the reason NATIONWIDE won't pay for more than a week for a rental car under that web site let me know ..... all I found was the laws abouting building a highway. We are going to have to get a lawyer .... good luck if you have Nationwide ... you'll need it!" 2008-03-12 00:10:46 EST
"My car was stolen exactly a month ago. It was recovered the same day, but unfortunately the thief loss control of the car and he/she crashed it into a tree. My vehicle was totaled. I had full coverage, liability, etc. Being that i am only 19 years old and could not get a rental car from the company they chose, i had to pay for my own rental car. Even though i was paying for rental with my insurance plan. I had to get the police reports, find a way to get my stuff out of the car about 50 miles from where i live, do interview after interview with nationwide representatives, etc. Today, a month from the incident, someone called me to give me an estimate. It was $2000 short from how much the car originally cost. So now i owe the lean holder and i still don't have a car. Nationwide Sucks!" 2008-03-17 16:01:13 EST
"my car caught on fire and i had full covers and they did not even want to pay for the blue book price what they want to pay leaves me with 7,000 more to pay on my car that i dont even have any more i dont know why we even need full cover if full cover dose mean anything i always thought full cover mean full cover it takes care of ever thing they even made me run around and get all the paper work for the car and they didnt even pay me for the car value the low ball me" 2008-03-20 23:20:20 EST
"I was an employee for Nationwide insurance Company and I am now on long term disability. I have a disability benefits package that continues to pay for my employee medical coverage. (whatever I had at the time of my disability) I was notified to file for medicare benefits becuase I was eligble and they would reimburse me for premiums. They never reimbursed me, then signed me up with a mediocre medicare D plan for prescription coverage. I got a monthly bill for that coverage. Presently I was sighned up with a medicareadvantage plan that cost me a $25.00 co-pay for office visits. I now pay $121.oo for better medicare D insurance that will continue to pay during "gap". I have gone from having all my medical insurance paid by my employer Nationwide (self insured) while on Long Term Disability to now paying amedicare B premium and and Medicare D premium as high as the medicare B premium for decent coverage. Add that to copay office visits and the cost of my medicines and I am now spending over $400.00 per month in out of pocket expence for my health care that is alledgedly to have been continued by my employer paying the premiums.
Is there anything I can do to have this matter looked into?" 2008-03-22 07:10:27 EST
"Nationwide raises the homeowners policy approximately 25% without a notice or comment regarding why the price increased." 2008-04-03 15:28:09 EST
"After 25+ years of paying premiums, we've been notified that Nationwide has decided to drop our home insurance. I recall only one claim in the 90's out of all those years, and now we are being dropped. Just unbelieveable that Nationwide can get away with this." 2008-04-04 21:17:43 EST
"Premium keeps increasing despite of never filing a claim over decades of being customer.
Alternative quotes from main competitors are 1/3 to 1/2 lower for equivalent coverage.
They did the same with my auto insurance years ago until I switched.
Their loss in both cases. " 2008-04-15 01:45:10 EST
"In the Northwest, the adjuster is from Allied...so beware. Once the estimate was given and referring a contractor, we were basically on our own. The referring contractor gave us an estimate. He then handed us off to a sub-contractor who eventually repaired drywall. Once we told the adjuster the estimate amount was not worth us filing for reimbursement, he never called back to check to see if we were at least satisfied with the repair or if he can do anything else to help us. We are in the process canceling our policy and going with someone else. Less and hopefully more "service oriented". " 2008-04-17 16:43:38 EST
"After 25 years with Nationwide -- I am very unsatisfied. Another person with Nationwide insurance hit my auto and Nationwide refuses to pay fair settlement without a fight. Nationwide is NOT ON YOUR SIDE. I know from personal experience. My 26th year will be with another company!!! " 2008-04-22 18:29:04 EST
"they charge too much" 2008-05-12 19:13:14 EST
"after two decades of paying home, cars, and boat insurance with them promptly, i would imagine that i had establed credit worthiness. However, they increased our rate and stated our credit score. Ironically, i have less debt than i ever have had and pay all my bills. " 2008-05-13 15:10:00 EST
"we had a tree fall on ower house. we had to remove the tree and currently have roof damage. the insurance company was tring to convince us to not file a claim.
" 2008-05-16 11:14:41 EST
"Nationwide re-evaluated the protection class this year and now we live in a more unsafe area for fire protection. Our house is still in the same spot, same distance from the fire department, but now we pay $200 more because they decided to re-classify. I think this is a way to raise the rates of people who have never had a claim." 2008-05-16 12:25:50 EST
"When I called to cancel my insurance, my agent hung up on my twice. I realize that the agent may be a little disappointed about the cancellation, but they still need to be professional. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised though because it just falls in line with all of the other reasons that led me to cancel in the first place! Just icing on the cake!" 2008-05-19 12:08:44 EST
"I had accident on may 16th 2008. they delay to send my check. I called claim center, rood, unprofessional and harsh customer service. She refused to connect me to her manager. They do not want send me the check under my name and pressuring me to take my car to their shop. I did not had this problem with ALLSTATE INSURANCE. I will take my business some were else. For last 4 days they stressed me so much that i can't sleep at night!!!!!! If you are looking for stress NATIONWIDE INSURANCE is best place to go!!! " 2008-05-23 14:58:10 EST
"Bought a second house could not get the agent to send a bill for closing numbers. They finally did and when I received to insurance papers they showed two policies on the same house. They made it sound like it was my fault.I went to another carrier and my over all rates dropped 1,500.00" 2008-05-31 13:08:01 EST
"Pay your claims!" 2008-06-02 06:22:55 EST
"My auto was involved in a hit and run accident. I took the car to one of their BLUE RIBBON repair shops which assured me they would perform quality work on my car and I was told as long as own the car they would repair it. NOT SO!!!! Nationwide is the worst! The adjustors are rude and unprofessional. Something has to be done about this company because they are liars. I understand looking out for the best interest of the company but Nationwide Employees are the worst!!!" 2008-06-24 14:22:22 EST
"very bad telephone service in regard to my policy" 2008-07-01 22:23:51 EST
"tornado claim: Adjuster told me I had to pay two deductibles - one for the outside damage and one for the inside damage, all for the same tornado - inside damage has never been fixed, and they just don't care. They told me they don't like people with $250 deductibles. How about that?
Hail damage claim: paid for damaged vents on roof, builders (3 different ones) all said there is significant damage and Nationwide keeps denying it. Last time adjuster was to meet with my contractor at 11:30 in the morning, he showed up at 3 pm, claimed he was tied up, went on the roof for 2 minutes, came down and said "that roof isn't leaking, it has two layers of singles." He went in his truck and took a pre-printed denial letter off the seat and gave it to me. (My roof has only one layer of shingles) Very poor service!!!" 2008-07-18 14:57:32 EST
""Premium keeps increasing despite of never filing a claim over decades of being customer. This includes home and auto."" 2008-07-10 11:10:11 EST
"When we first signed up with Nationwide we informed them we operated a reptile rescue on a farm in the country. They acknowledged and stated it was not a problem. That was in 2003. Subsequently to that, each year they levied new requirements on us, demanding that we eliminate one class of animal after another, each time threatening to cancel our insurance.
We finally gave up and closed the rescue after going around and around with them. I still have a few snakes and they just cancelled us AGAIN, even after saying it was okay to have them.
I am amazed at the number of lies, half truths and changing policy requirements we have experienced with this company." 2008-07-03 08:26:05 EST
"Very fine organization" 2008-07-03 18:57:54 EST

"my wife was rear ended at a stop sign,no fault of her own, nationwide was on both sides of the claim, adjuster played the 'delay' game once we ready to settle and would not return phone calls even AFTER we called our agent AND her boss 3 times!!! we felt offended by lame excuses and suggestions from adjuster's regional supervisor that my wife 'could be lying' about her injuries.we are currently shopping our 5 policies i can tell you 'NATONWIDE WAS NOT ON OUR SIDE!'" 2008-07-20 23:22:47 EST
"my dog bit a neighbors child (we share a common back patio) the er doctor didnt want to put in any stiches he said it wasnt necessary. this kid came home and went out roller skating. we were sued for 60 thousand dollars. we supplied nationwide pictures of this kid walking a neighbors dog(her lawyer claimed she was now terrified of dogs) The creepy neighbor and her shylock lawyer settled for 16 thousand. nationwide was a pain in the ass. the worst" 2008-07-30 11:32:23 EST
"They took care of my water backup in my basement quickly and fairly." 2008-07-25 22:37:30 EST
"The home insurance is very high & continues to rise. Our premium has gone up $249 in less than 2 years w/no claims. We've only had one tiny claim since 1996. If you get a new roof, new heat pump or do electrical/plumbing improvements you need to inform your agent so you will be given credit--they don't tell you that beforehand. Our new heat pump installed this Jan. will reduce our premuim by about $58. I just found out that if we provide a receipt for the new roof on our house we can get another discount. Too bad we bought the house almost 2 yrs ago and the sellers put the new roof on.
We've had good experiences with auto claims. However, because our sons (18 & 21) aren't the best drivers, we've paid hundreds of dollar out of pocket to prevent reporting incidents to the company. I'm currently getting quotes from Erie & Allstate. The thought of changing is scary after being w/the same agent who actually knows me by name for so long." 2008-07-27 22:10:57 EST
"We also have Flood insurance with Nationwide. Our homeowners and car insurance, we were always treated fairly, but when we lost our home to a flood, we were very upset with the adjuster, (colonial claims)and Nationwide did us wrong. We are very upset, when we needed them most, we did not get treated fairly." 2008-08-12 14:43:55 EST
"My agent and Nationwide have been the best and easiest to work with yet. " 2008-07-31 22:51:05 EST
"had a claim of hail storm and have never been treated so badly. just like a crimnal. would advise DO NOT TAKE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY. STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY!" 2008-08-02 23:23:29 EST
"They pay the first installment on the claim very quickly,it has now been months and they just keep stalling to finish paying, meanwhile everything is adding up on my credit card bills, bad faith." 2008-08-04 17:00:42 EST
"changing agents is near impossible! easier to change insurance companies!" 2008-08-06 21:33:59 EST
"They kept increasing the premiums on my auto and home for no reason. Every time I called in to inquire about the increase, they kept telling me that it's a general increase for everyone. But my brother and sister who are with different carriers said that their premiums did not go up. Mine has been going up for about 4,5 years in a row so I finally dumped Nationwide after being with them for 14 years." 2008-08-15 12:48:02 EST
"Nationwide adds additional coverage items with consent. I raised my deductibles to lower my cost and then they raised their rates to compensate. Watch them!" 2008-08-20 11:52:42 EST |
