"I would suggest that everyone stay away from Cigna."
"Cigna life insurance was offered by my employer. Stated open house for employees and spouses. NO MEDICAL QUESTIONS. No Health questions needed. Guaranteed Coverage and cannot be turned down. Life Insurance was purchased for my wife. When she became ill and passed away CIGNA denied the claim stating that health information was obtained from the hospital and based on this denied the claim. Despite the dispute CIGNA continued to collect the monthly premiums from my payroll for an additional 6 months until I petitioned repeatedly to my employer and Consumer Protection agency. The life Insurance was never paid despite my appeals. Upon further investigation of other reviews and complaints I discovered that CIGNA systematically denies up to 65 % of life insurance claims.The Truth is CIGNA has committed fraud against consumers and should be dissolved as a business and all prior claims be reviewed by a real Consumer protection Agency. "
"We have Cigna Dental and their payment rates to the providers are AWFUL The usual and customary rates are almost 25% less than other carriers for the same services. They also issued me a check for orthodontic services and the check bounced I have already sent the provider his money so I am now out the full load plus a return check charge from my bank The reps have no idea that the check bounced and insist that I cashed it. WTF This is a LAWSUIT and they should no longer be able to provide insurance in my state if I have anything to say about it"
"I realize most people post when they are upset. Today I got a call from Informed Choice to let me know that the place my husband chose to get a scan would cost 3 or 4 times as much as another local place. They got a conference call going and authorized the scan and set the appointment for me. I did not give extremely happy rating because there are a couple of things I wish they could do for me but thankfully at least we have insurance through my husband's work. I am certainly very satisfied with phone communication. "
