"Electric insurance has been good till I needed to do changes to my policies. They are the most unflexible company. I am trying since 2 years to get the car from my ex-wife removed from my policy! Impossible! Finally I am switching insurance companies to accomplish this and Electric Insurance makes it very complicated to cancel the policy which is about to expire anyway. You are unable to get the responsible agents on the phone and all others seem to not authorized to help you. Electric Insurance was good till I had to make changes - now I wish I had picked an insurance that has a local agent so if something doesn't go your way you can talk to a person instead of beeing put on hold and transfered from voicemail to voicemail! "The Agent did not supply all information to me prior to me cancelling the policy regarding the cancellation fees and other hidden fees when I contacted the company prior to cancelling my policy.Once I cancelled my policy I was sent one (1) notice, which I misplaced, next thing you know I was sent to a collection agency. If you are a current customer you would have gotten a 2nd reminder notice of fees due. But when no longer a customer you do not get a 2nd notice, they dicriminate in the way they treat existing customers vs non-customers, but stll charge the installation fee as if you were an existing customer. "I had this policy for almost 8 years and cancelled because I found a better rate with a better-rated company. I cancelled and was sent a bill for $1. I didn't know why I was charged $1 and didn't pay it right away. It turns out that the actual amount owed was $123 and the bill didn't reflect that. The company immediately sent me to collections when I didn't pay the dollar. No contact, no warning. I had never missed a payment or been late. I had never made a claim. After one month of not paying the $123 bill, that I didn't know I owed, I had bill collectors breathing down my neck. We were set up on automatic payment withdrawl and the agent was unable to adequately explain why we owed a full month's payment after cancelling the policy. He just gave me a run-around about the equity account and the owed premium being behind. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Go with a company you have actually heard of before. I'm just glad I never had to find out what they would do with their claims process." 2008-08-06 09:21:33 EST
"Daughter has an accident (in my car) and my next years auto policy went thru the roof. This after 10+ years of claimless loyalty." 2009-01-10 07:41:52 EST
"They have several fees they charge you if you cancell your policy with them." 2008-12-18 14:40:53 EST
"Very fast claim handling." 2008-12-25 21:12:40 EST
"We have had Electric for over 10 years and our rates actually go down yearly. We have a PEL policy which means we have to keep 100/300 limits on auto and still the rate I pay for my 95 bronco is not much more then the so-called cheaper companies.
I have never had a problem with customer service, getting rate quotes, and help in understanding something on the policy. We had a incident with mold in our old house and they were right there with us...luckily we were able to get our home builder to pay for the mold removal. Granted I have never had to file a claim, but I did when I was with State Farm and had problems with them. EVEN BEFORE I filed the claim with State Farm, my rates were constantly going up, even though we had no changes on the policy.....I was with State Farm for 20 year, shouldn't my rates have gone down?
Regardless, We like Electric Insurance." 2009-02-05 13:11:21 EST |
