"By design they don't answer calls respond to email or return calls from voice mail messages. They will go to great extremes to avoid payment and pre authorization. I personally believe their practices are criminal but they have found loop holes or there just aren't laws regarding their practices."
"Bought individual family coverage through the CoveredCA.com exchange for 800 per month a 200 increase over my group health plan from my former employer. Every aspect of HealthNet's product is a disaster. Phone support is totally useless if you get past the usual busy signal UNACCEPTABLE you're put on hold for 30 minutes UNACCEPTABLE and then often disconnected UNACCEPTABLE.Initial coverage confirmation was over 30 days late UNACCEPTABLE.Once coverage was established Health Net had pre-selected a physician who was located 15 miles from my home UNACCEPTABLE at a primarily Spanish-speaking clinic and I don't speak Spanish. No doctor in my town or even within 15 miles wants to accept my plan. Or deal with Health Net.After calling and finally getting a request submitted to change my PTP I was told it would take over 30 days to become effective UNACCEPTABLE."
"More expensive than other PPOs with same coverage. Under dental policy for additional fee will not pay anything for cleaning by periodontist because it is not basic cleaning by a dentist. Took more than 30 days to get prior authorization for a "specialty" medication and then an additional 2 weeks for Rx to be filled by their contracted specialty pharmacy CVS/Caremark who refers to the retail "cash" price of medication rather than their substantially discounted contract rate. Impossible to get through to customer service--announced telephone waiting times are in excessive of 40 minutes. Horrible company. "
