"My experience with them is that they are a fair company in terms of claim settlement (we have had 4 claims over a period of 20 years including an uninsured motorist who totaled our car). I am switching because of their cost. I have quotes from 3 other companies that are about 30% less than Farmers and Farmers continuously attempts to raise their rates."

"Farmers Insurance rates are out of control. Greed has taken over Farmers management. They know they only loose an addtional 5% everytime that increase the rates. This is because people do not like change in their lives and name recognition. They loose an addtional 5% but they are making so much more money on the ones who stay. They are going to keep increasing rates over and over agin untill the majority of their customers have had enough. When they start loosing an addition 20% or 30% they will back off."

"I have 4 cars, trailer and quads. The agent is great and claims are processed quickly if you have one. I have been with them for 20+ years. The rates have begun to go out of control. I had a small accident last December rear-end and no damage to my truck, but $2500 damage to the car I hit. First accident ever. Rates went up 28%. I started to show around and found my bill will go from $4400 a year to $3500 with American Family. Farmers has been great, but in these econimic times saving $900 is time for a change."

"Just plain horrible, after 17 years. They are happpy to take your money, but not happy to help your resolve a claim."
