Long Term Care Insurance Q & As

Question 2 of 3 in Claims
Can a company refuse to pay a claim?
Yes! Not all situations are covered in every policy, and the company may have cause to believe that you are not entitled to benefits under the policy. If your claim is denied, you have a right to question the denial and receive a further review. The company may determine that it did not have all of the relevant information or that the claim was denied in error.

This type of situation is why you should consider a company's reputation for the fair treatment of its policyholders. This is a rather subjective matter and difficult to assess. Have you or people you know done business with the company in the past and been satisfied?
