What if a cruise itinerary is changed and I don’t get everything I paid for?
The cruise line will probably allow you to cancel and receive a credit toward a future cruise up to the day of departure, but you may have difficulty finding out about changes in the itinerary before you arrive at the ship.

The changes can occur for many reasons (for example, weather or other factors could make a river cruise that was part of the trip impossible) and can result in a much different trip than you thought you were buying. This is another reason why purchasing travel insurance would be advisable.
