"WORST COMPANY EVER. I called to get a freaking quote and when when the "agent" figured out that I was not ready to get coverage THAT DAY, hung up on me and said "Thanks for wasting my time". Who does that I don't know how these people stay in business giving such immature and horrendous customer service. "

"Raises rates every 6 months and they're not small raises either. I was quoted 635/billing period but every billing period that rate increases by 30/billing period. My 4th billing period is upcoming within 2 weeks. My last bill was for 711 this one coming up is for 744. So within 2 years my 6 month rate has risen by over 100. I'm getting sick of being treated like a piggy bank."

"Covers 6 visits to the doctor 20 prescriptions a year I need my doctor and I have to take medication but guess what I'm out. No more prescriptions without me paying for them and I have to really watch going to the doctor their almost out sure hope I can make it to January."

"on dad's advise called allied for insurance on my first car. i thought i was getting insurance from allied- nope nationwide sub group victoria auto ins. cancelled it in less than 1 hour and these crooks are going to keep more than 100.00. what a rip off. have called allied for help and just get transferred to the customer service group at nationwide and there are no "bosses" or supervisors that will do anything other than say tough "that is the way we are allowed to do business" my advice find somebody anybody else"

"Pre-existing policy is unrealistic especially so close to the The Obamacare enactment and within the Affordable Care Act time period. The call center representatives are plain ignorant and unhelpful."

"Fire protection class was changed from 6 to 10 resulting in a hefty increase in premium though nothing had changed with the property. They could/would not give me an explanation after I requested a review. "

"Allied does a great job with their customer service and billing. I referred my neighbor to them and about a week after he switched his wife was in a huge accident. Allied has taken care of everything really well for him. Now I know how they would handle any claim for me."

"In the years we have had Allied they have raised our deductibles without notification and apparently have sold out to Nationwide without notifying customers. When we did have a claim from wind damage they paid exactly 0 then that same year when they paid 0 on our claim they raised our policy premium by 20. Buyers more second chances from this house."

"Its been over 2 months since my 2010 Harley was destroyed in a garage fire and the insurance company still has not payed the lien holder or me. The credit union and myself still have not been payed off. Im still paying for a motorcycle that i cant ride. This company sucks and Ill make it a point to tell any one that will listen not to buy insurance from them."

"Other than taking approximately 10 minutes for the claims representative to answer the 1-800 Claims number the service was fast efficient and of good quality. There was a question as to whether we had auto rental coverage on our fleet policy and instead of out right denying the coverage the claims person said they would check on the coverage issue and get back with us which they did and advised we did in fact have the coverage.They authorizaed repairs at the body shop of oour choice handled arranging the rental car with Enterprise and when I returned the ccar I was told that Allied was handling the bbill direct. VERY GOOD SERVICE AND I WOULD RRECOMMEND THEM ESPECIALLY ON COMMERCIAL COVERAGE."

"Terrible. My wife and I bought a home and insured it with Allied. Everything was great until we received a letter in the mail saying that our policy was cancelled with little explanation given. We called them and they said it was because we robbed in a different house in a different state over 2 years ago Why insure someone at all if youre just going to cancel the policy over something that was not our fault Now we have to go through the hassle all over again. Get your act together Allied. WHAT A JOKE"

"after being transferred and transferred on hold forever customer service rep in claims dept was completely stupid accident happened in California she kept telling me that with the damages my car needed to go to a Vehicle Evaluation Center they were going to tow it to Des Moines IA--finally hung up on her--Are they completely stupid?"

"Everytime I renew my insurance I get a "new" version of the policy and everytime they include a notice of more things excluded from the policy. Of course teh ratre never goes downand always manages to go up even though the coverage is less. Had a claim and it took two weeks to get an adjustr out and three more weeks for the settlemnt to show up and it was $1000 less that agreed to with the adjuster. People, do NOT do business with these idiots. If you do you WILL regret it."

"when i requested to provide written statement, claims adjustor became very psychotic and threatening. They demanded I provide recorded statement. Utlimately, I had to hire an attorney to get written statement submitted. "

"Live in Colorado and had hail damage to roof. Had several roofing companies come out said it needed to be replaced. EVERY house around us got replaced, but by a miracle ours got spared according to Allied. One roofing company told us exactly what they would do and the steps that they would take not to have to pay. They did exactly that. Fought them for almost 2 yrs before getting an arbitrator that they picked and I had to pay for. DO NOT get home owners insurance through them. They do not pay for legitimate claims."

"Got the Dex10 Fixed Indexed Annuity; bad options and you are stuck for many years even after death, as cashing in requires annuitizing for 10 MORE years for beneficiaries, not an immediate cashout. Also, they cap gains at a relatively low percentage, and you can ONLY draw out 10% of your original principal, not what your combined principal and gains are! It really sucks! Agent was not honest or informative."

"After two minor accidents Allied will not renew my policy. I had Nationwide for years with no claims. The next thing I know, Nationwide tells me I have Allied Insurance! There needs to be laws passed to stop this crap! "

"I have our auto insurance automatically deducted from our checking account monthly so I know its always paid.I have been wordering lately why I havent received new insurance cards so I pulled up my account and only noticed homeowners insurance so I called my agent and asked what was going on and they looked into in and said my policy was cancelled in November (6 months ago)I should have caught it but because its a auto deduction I just assumed it was good.I told my agent that I have never been notified and because my vehicles are financed they must have not been notified either and my agent said they havent been notified and there are no notes.I have been driving this long with no insurance,what if something happened? I havent had a claim with them except a windshield that got hit by a rock or something and that was 2 years ago.and nothing else.I will not deal with these people ever again."

"To get out of covering my claim, they stated that the cause was something completely unrelated (mudslide? what?!) because the policy had an exception for mudslides. I live in downtown Denver, we don't have mudslides here."

"I have been with Nationwide as a loyal customer for 25 years. Recently 2 years ago Nationwide began having Allied take care of my Auto, Homeowner, and Unbrella policy's. Nationwide/Allied have been increasing my premiums each year for the past three years. Neither I, nor my wife had any incidents or claims yet the rates keep going up. When speaking with a company rep to explain the increases, he tried blaming the state in which I live for the increase. After probing the rep with more questions, it became more apparent that it was not the state causing the increase, and that they had also removed a "new vehicle discount" on my 2004 vehicle. This was removed based on the year of the vehicle not the mileage. I expained that my vehicle is garaged the majority of the time and was only used during a recreational event on a few weekends, the rep said it didn't matter. Simply he said "he understood my frustration, as he gets numerous similar calls, but their is nothing he could do". And that my friends is what 25 years of my loyalty, and premiums bought. I now finding quotes with the same limits 30-40% lower."

"We were in a 3 car accident during poor weather conditions, we were not at fault. After getting home I called the national number to let them know what happened and to open a claim. After they took all the information, I was told everything would be just fine, don't worry about the towing, impound lot fees or anything. The next day, I worked with an adjuster on the phone and was under the impression that all was fine. Then she called back and said "sorry" your policy was cancelled two days ago because we can't locate your payment. The at fault driver also has Allied and what do you know... all of a sudden their insurance policy was in question. My car is still in the impound lot and I do not have an answer or any information. When I call, I am told they are working on it. I am so frustrated that after 15 years of maintaining a policy with Allied; that they can just toss us out on our behind due to a payment processing error on their part. We had just finished up correcting an overbilling for the previous 2 months. Frustrated and leaving Allied as soon as possible."

"They used a "Ball-Out" with my car, they used a range of 250 miles to find a car, they were not polite with me, they used a different car model as price basis - hatch car instead of a sedan."

"Motorcycle policy. This company tried to jack up the cost after the initial quote by saying that my wife and daughter had points and this was why they were increasing the cost from the original quote. I am the only holder of a motorcycle endorsement in the family and the only driver for the vehicle on the policy. What a sleazeball company."

"Was in an accident, was not my fault, other driver had Allied also. From there a nightmare. They lowballed my car value, I had over 25,000 in med bills from disk hernias and muscle spasm, treating me like crap. Have a lawyer now to sue. Canceled them and will never make that mistake again."

"I was involved in a Roll Over Accident which wasn't my fault. My car seat was ruin (I didn't have my baby in it at the time) my insurance won't cover that expense and I have to pay $500 for my medical, to top it off two of my three claims people have been really rude to me, this company needs some Customer Service Training, even the owner of the Auto Body shop where my vehicle was brought said this is the hardest company to work with. "

"I commented earlier about Allied. My initial reaction toward Allied was negative but as I was able to talk to customer representative, I guess I was not correct about what I thought. I'm still not satisfied with the way my claim was handled, however, they did refund the amount that they owed me. Before you buy insurance, be aware of the terms of coverage, and if you happen to get in accident with car or whatever, don't panic. Calm down before you call insurance company, and make sure you take notes. Misunderstanding can occur. "

"My home received serious ice storm damage this past December. Tree damage, roof damage, electrical service damage etc. It will cost me over $8500 to get my home back "to normal". Allied responded to my claim by writing me a check for $2800, minus the $500 deductible. Now I find that they have increased my annual homeowner's policy cost by over 30%. In checking several other insurance carriers, I find that most do not raise rates for one claim. Particularly when they are an act of God. In fact, some offer continued discounts up to 15%, for less than 2 claims in a 3 year period of time. I am very disappointed with Allied. "

"These bastards ran a credit check out of the blue and raised our homeowners and auto rates! The negative info is due to come off our credit history in less than a year, so they just wanted to get the extra money (increased rate) while they still could. We've always paid on time and never had any problems with this company, but now they're using people's credit histories to determine rates. It's a scam, and we're insurance shopping again."

"Company is very difficult to work with. Keeps making excuses not to pay a claim after initially saying "absolutely, this is fully covered". After I prove their excuse wrong they come up with another. Finally they just said "we don't want to pay it and there is nothing you can do about it". Very unprofessional. Was a small claim - $1500 and policy very clearly states that home was covered."

"Very responsive in taking care the claim that we had recently. The estimate from the adjuster is slightly different from the estimate we get from the independent repair shop but the problem is resolved promptly."

"So far, it's been 12 days and STILL the claims adjuster has not been out to see my un-driveable car. Their rental insurance of $30/day does not cover a remotely comparable car (mine is a station wagon and I need a comparable sized car as we are moving house in two weeks). The agent was rude, as was his manager and they just kept reading the policy over and over, not answering why they hadn't been out to look at the car in 12 days - nor could they give me an answer as to when they would look at the car. It's INSANE."

"I had my first claim with Nationwide (Allied) in 20 years as a client. My car was hit by a hit and run driver, and my auto rate went up, even though it was not my fault. I lost my accident-free discount. This was not fair. When they appraised the damage to my car, it was $900 less than a body shop appraisal. I had to have it repaired by an independent body shop person."

"Completely unprofessional customer service agents and suspect valuation of vehicles. They use a company called CCC that no one other than Insurance agents are allowed into, so you are unable to see the data these crooks claim is "market vlaue". You have no one to challenge the value with you are told by the agent it's a take it or leave it offer. DO NOT under any circumstances do business with Allied Insurance!"
