"21 years I paid a Thousand dollars a year with premium increases every year.l was insured by Foremost up to 90.000. Mobile home 36000 contents. After hurricane Irma the eye went over my mobile trailer. My first claim I was denied on damages to my mobile home. Blue green algae on the ceiling Ripped ceiling panels. They did not give me one penny,and I was covered for that and more before buying insurance with Foremost insurance company's farmers is the same company. Please for you sake and protection check complain reviews o Foremost and farmers same company farmers brought Foremost in the year 2000"

"I was asked how much coverage I needed an I said 22k on a off-road vehicle. It was stolen an I was offered half of what I paid for it. Please don't buy a policy from foremost"

"Policy rate increased every year, and doubled this year. Escrow account took a hit of -2000 mortgage payment from 685 to 0ver 900 a month. I have not had a claim in over 30 years. Buyer beware"

"My experience with foremost claim adjuster is that after paying for over 17 years a couple Thousand dollars a year. With coverages up to 90,000 on a mobile home on 36,000 personal property damage. I never filed one time in 17 years after the last hurricane on September 10th my roof 60 by 24 on Mobile home was ripped up the intire inside ceiling is black and green mold ceiling dropping all over. My burns severely when I go into the trailer. Over 100 miles an hour winds hit this mobile from the east side where theirs a clearing for miles. Wind was so strong it broke a three foot thick oak tree. Foremost adjuster did not give me one penny for the damage to the mobile home . But gladly took my premiums .... took a couple of thousands of dollars a year for 17 years . I am now following I legal lawsuit against foremost which is farmers insurance. In closing I have one thing to say to the general population. Everybody should start filing lawsuits against all these insurance companies don't let them get away with what they're doing. Just collecting our premiums yearly and not paying their end of their obligation to their customers. And don't waste your money on famers or foremost insurance thinking your damages are covered.because they only want your premiums each year and I don't pay for damages "

"We have had this insurance for 10 years and have never had a claim until Irma and our county is a federal disaster area. They depreciate everything even though we have replacement coverage. We have roof damage which is fairly extensive and they only want to replace random shingles making our home roof look like a patchwork quilt. With the FL heat and sun you will never match shingles exact. Their adjusters are not well trained and are rude We thought having insurance replacement would be the best route and after paying huge fees for it are getting the shaft. Dealing with this insurance company has been far worse than being in the hurricane itself"

"We bought our manufactured home in 2012. The roof has never been repaired or replaced. Enter hurricane Irma. Hole in the roof. Tried to repair until we could fix it. Now enter hurricane Nate. Didn't have the money to complete repairs before Nate came through a few weeks later. Ceiling in the front bedroom came down. Adjuster came out, said VERY little, took a couple pictures and left. Got an email a couple days later. We get 500 to replace a roof and the ceiling in the bedroom. Buyer beware"

"Foremost farmers insurance company will take your premiums for 17 years 34,000 When I was hit with hurricane hit my trailer. Insurance is good up to 90,000 Foremost. they did not give me one cent the whole roof was destroyed they just took my money Year only once for hurricane roof damage did not get one penny. If you have foremost finsurance your throwing your money into garbage can when you file one time your'llhear see that Victor town for17 years with foremost I wasted 34,000 dollars"

"I love Foremost Insurance I had a car accident on September 20, 2017, just a week after being hit with hurricane Irma. Foremost picked up my car from my home a couple of hours later. Everyone that I spoke to on the phone was super helpful and very polite. Today makes a week after the accident and they have already settled my claim. They gave me a very good price for my car as well, allowing me to drive away with my new car this evening. This has been a terrible few weeks for us here in Florida, but Foremost really came through for me. I will continue to be a Foremost customer with my new Dodge Dart and any future household cars. Thank you Foremost."

"The claims reps were very friendly and concerned about my needs.I'm 70 years old and my health is not good. This was the first claim I've ever had to make,and was not sure what to expect,but I was pleasantly surprised.It was a fair settlement and handled very quickly. I would certainly recommend Foremost Ins. to anyone needing insurance."

"They are completely geared to rejecting claims when you need them the most. Our repair man said they are routinely difficult to do business with. We nearly had an rv fire from our water heater do to a thermostat failure, they denied our claim because the assumed it was from a short in the electrical system, and that would be classified as a manufacturers defect In short I am looking for a way to get a refund for the policy and to inform as many prospective buyers of rv's to avoid this SHAM company."

"For the secondary home insurance we obtained, the policy states that after 60 days of nonoccupancy, they will only pay damages up to 60%. This comes with a 5,000 deductible. And yet, on a 280,000, the premium is over 2,000 This is an abysmal policy which we are changing at the earliest possible date."

"Foremost has insured my 1997 Honda Shadow for 7 Years and each Year the premiums have gone up an average of 10% per Year. When I received my renewal notice Yesterday they had increased last Years amount 310% three hundred and ten percent, they also increased my comprehensive coverage 2300% twenty three hundred percent. When I contacted them I was told they had to raise premium three times what it was last Year because it is now 20 Years old and that parts for it are getting hard to find and are also expensive. And since my bike is 20 years old it is no longer eligible for the included in the policy 3500.00 optional equipment and accessory coverage."

"I have had 3 insurance companies so far and this insurance company is the absolute WORST I have experienced so far. They find new ways to steal your money from account each month. I have only been with this company for three months and each month they have some absurd excuse why I need to pay more than the agreed upon payments. Never dealing with foremost or farmers insurance ever again."

"The dealership recommended this insurance company and since it was a Saturday I thought I would try them. HUGE mistake We were unable to get the paperwork originally and when we finally received it the information was wrong. The VIN was incorrect as well as the value of the vehicle. We paid almost 18,000 for the motorcycle but the paperwork we received showed the value at 12,500. When we asked that it be corrected we were told to cross it out and write the correct amount ourselves which isnt legal on a contract. Our first auto draft payment went through but the next one never cleared and we received a cancellation notice. When we called again we were told that it was set up to auto draft again but that date rolled by as well with no payment made. We never received the corrected paperwork and the policy was cancelled. We received another bill today a month later saying that we owe them 15 for the period that we were covered and hadnt paid even though we called multiple times and were told it was taken care of on multiple occasions. Thank God we never had to file a claim. I can only imagine what a nightmare that would have been. Horrible customer service from both the people we spoke with. Dont waste your time or money"

"A tree fell and destroyed my summer cabin and they could not have handled things any better. An adjuster was there the next day and I had a check that covered my rebuilding costs in less than two weeks. I had read all the negative reviews here and was worried, but my experience could not have been better."

"Foremost refused to come to my home to see the damage from a retaining wall failure. Asked me to describe what I saw. I got a call back a few days later and was told they have a disclaimer for a rock wall if any of the rocks have a crack. I've never seen this "list of disclaimers", it is not part of the policy they sent me in the mail, nor was such ever mentioned to me when I applied for their Homeowners Insurance. Foremost is own by Farmers."

"Foremost They said the would not repair my 86 year old mothers floor damage due to a failed water heater, she has had premium insurance with foremost ever since buying a new home 10 years ago. For her no claim loyalty they reward her with rejection of here claim due to negligence. Their claims denier said she should have replaced the water heater at 5 years and do weekly inspection, who does that. Avoid this company or you will be sorry."

"They are terrible very quick to take your monthly payment but a nightmare at the time they have to resolve a claim. Free advice stay away from them. I had an accident two months ago and I am still trying to resolve. Today I need to get my car from the shop my adjuster does not even answer the phone. TERRIBLE"

"This is only insurance I can get for my mobile home. My roof has leaked for years and every time I have had checked they tell me something different time. It is always maintance or need something replaced. Had roofer come out and they said I need a new roof. Foremost is terrible"

"It took 70 days for my vehicle to be completed. 27 of these were actual work days by the body shop. The other 43 we waited for the appraiser to come 3 times. This is due to the appraisal being 2700 off at the beginning. When checks were mailed to the body shop they were sent to the wrong address twice.The cost of repairs was 10500. The car is worth 14k. Everyone we spoke with tow truck drivers body shop mechanics friends in the business all said it should have been totaled. "

"I filed claim for hail damage and after 2 roofers agreed hail damage was evident Foremost claimed it was not hail damage but was damage to shingles to become brittle from poor ventilation in the attic."

"Had Farmer's but when Farmer's bought out Foremost they turned our policy over yo Foremost Premiums have doubledcoverage is less and they don't want to cover any claims. Filed my first claim with them and the claims adjuster is useless and does know what he is doing with a claim. Never had such a useless high costing company. We are looking for a new one. Oh and after I filed my claim I got phone calls from out of state companies wanting to send reps to my place to give us a free estimate. "

"The policy is written in a way that no matter what happens to my home unless it is a sudden weather related or total loss due to fire I am not covered. This policy was obviously written by a con artist and the CEO and all officers belong in jail for fraud."

"They are thieves. I get letters in the mail everyday telling you your policy will be cancelled. Meanwhile your on automatic payment plan. Everyday I stayed on the phone complaining about money being taken out my account. STAY AWAY..... And to think I was referred to them by a friend."

"We moved and put our small old house 864 sq ft. on the market while empty. My Am. Fam. insurance agent found that Foremost would insure our empty house while it was for sale for 86 per month. She did some checking and thought it would be the best option. I received the first bill for 196.79 to begin the insurace. I had my insurance agent call and was told that this was for 2 months coverage up front plus start up fees. I paid it. Coverage began Aug. 2 and we got surprise quick offer and sold on Aug. 23. I called to cancel on Aug. 23. I then got another bill in the mail. I called my agent again who called Foremost and was told I needed to sign a cacellation form. I went in to sign it and she sent it in. I then received a cancellation notice that said my policy cancelled Sept. 1 and that I owed an additional 59.21. After MANY calls by my furious agent and finally a 3 way call in late Dec. with my agent myself and Foremost we were able to get the 59.21 removed but NO Refund. Apparently they have some small print burried in thier website that even my professional insurance agent Am Fam. couldn't locate. My agent was SO aploigetic to me and hates Foremost now as do I. She said she will NEVER use them again. DO NOT USE FORMOST KEEP SHOPPING"

"Have had Foremost for a rental property since 2009 and have made zero claims. I received my renewal bill for 2014 and noticed it was 136 more than 2013. I noticed I had lost a 146 discount for Superior Financial Responsibility due to a number of reasons based on their report from Equifax. I ordered a copy of my report to verify and saw my score was still over 800 out of 850 which rates out as very high. Actually higher than it was in 2012. On of the reasons stated was short credit history report shows 19 Yrs 6 mos. Another was too many Installment accounts report shows 1 also was too many recent credit checks report shows 1 in 2013 in August. I then called Foremost to explain this and was blatantly lied to and told that the discount was still there but they dont show it anymore. In no way do I believe they would tout this discount and not list it. I was then told that the reason for the increase was rate hikes for Illinois. a 21% increase just do to the state? No way. You LIE FOREMOST I am done with you. "

"I had my Park Model RV insured with Foremost for the past 12 years. This past summer there was a 100 year storm in southern NM and because of the hurricane force winds and heavy rain my RV was heavily flooded. I was at my summer home when that happened so I did not discover the damages which included extreme mold until I arrived at my winter home where all us snowbirds go. I called Foremost and filed a claim. They got an adjuster out in about 4 days he showed up on 10/3/13. He said that the claim would be denied because it was a maintenance issue on the roof which was replaced 4 years ago. I was told by the adjuster that I would receive a letter from him regarding the denial in about 2 weeks. My home and about 75% of the contents were a complete loss. I did not receive that letter and I have been calling and asking for a letter for the past 6 weeks. They won't even talk to me any more. My granddaughter finally called Foremost and they told her that the claim had been closed on 10/2/13 - however the adjuster did not show up until 10/3/13. I have reviewed the 3 whole pages of my policy and can not find any exceptions to anything. I finally called an attorney today. I was told I definitely have a bad faith case against Foremost."

"Foremost sent a letter showing me that they are not renewing my homeowner's policy due to 2 claims. One claim was concerning a tree that fell on my metal awning attached to my back porch. The tree fell during a storm. It did not damage the house at all only the metal awning. The other claim involved water damage to my floor from a bursted pipe. Each claim was approx. 3000. I expected that my premium would go up but I did not expect them to drop me. I called and asked if they would reconsider. I told them that the claim involving the tree was due to weather which no one can control not a hurricane or anything just a storm. I let them know that I will agree to a higher premium. They said that still will not renew my policy. I feel that this company was premature in dropping my coverage. Also in doing so they have made it very difficult to find another policy."

"Had damage occur while I was gone on vacation water damage on inside to walls ceiling. Now mold proposes health risk to me. My claim with Winterburn and associates Foremost Insurance was denied for really not a good reason. This was the only insurance available at the time due to stationary travel trailer. Now I am homeless"

"Bought a 04 truck about a month ago... I was going through Foremost for insurance. My truck got stolen a week after I got it while in St. Louis. The cops found my truck less then 38 hours later. Its been a month and I still do not have my truck because my claim adjuster is hard to reach...She said they will not pay for the damage to my stolen truck and is making it sound like its my fault. Do not purchase insurance through them because it'll do absolutely no good..."

"Raised my motorcycle premium due to "credit score". The only problem is I have perfect credit rating. I also have a perfect score on my insurance credit rating. I called and asked for data on how they came to this conclusion. They informed me "it's proprietary". I promptly cancelled and acquired insurance for my motorcycle through Rider insurance at half the price for twice the coverage. Beware of the bait and switch."

"Was a victim of hail from passing tornado. Had to pay over 500 for estimates on RV. Husband works in construction and we live out of fifth wheel. Could not get an adjuster out here to save my life just got passed around. Had to pay out of pocket to get repairs done. Still not sure if it is safe to drive down road or if more damage is being done as days go by. Avoid this company at all cost they don't give a damn about their customers."

"I've had Foremost Insurance on just one of my rental properties for a year and have not received one bill. Not one only cancellation notices for non payment. I have tried to contact them numerous times and even signed up for online billing with no results. I will be switching this home to the same company that insures my 28 other insurance needs. Too bad you missed out Foremost."

"I have had motorcycle insurance with this company for approximately seven years. This year my policy premium went from 600 to1322 without any explanation. I have had no tickets or claims. Rep said it was because I dont have any bills therefore they rated me as a high risk. This is nuts. WOW. I cancelled and went with another company for 680."

"The policy information states claim denial in a "play on words" format. As a consumer you read and underestand one way they explain the policy information in such a way that it is to their benefit. Thus in the end they dont have to pay. I feel the company should be shut-down. How does the insurance commission allow these people to print such "double face lies" that cheat innocent people out of their money but the company renders Extremely poor service. I should have to get a lawyer to make people do what is right. "

"I have been a faithful customer of Foremost and this year because I had a slight lowering of my credit score decided to charge me DOUBLE for my yearly motorcycle insurance. This is a horrible way to treat customers. I belong to many motorcycle organizations and I am going to put the word out to stay as far away from Foremost as possible. How Rude"

"Gave me a payment date to which we was paying ahead of the date. Then they inform us that there was a payment due not even on our payment sheet to which they wanted a late fee on top of it. Shortly thereafter we moved 3 miles down the road and they added another 82 to our policy. Complete rip offs.Also double check the numbers on the policy. Bet they do not add up."

"I filed 2 claims for water damage on Dec 8and the adjuster came out Dec 13th.The adjuster finally answered his phone on Dec 30th and told me I had to have a plumber determine whether the damage was from plumbing or weather.After talking to a supervisor on Dec 30th and describing the damage to him I was told forget the plumber.It is now Jan 16th and I have not heard a word from anyone since I called them on Dec 30th.I have seen in person the plumbing leaking since the claim was filed and even an idiot could tell the damage is not from weather."

"Filed two claims for damaged roofs on rental units wind/hail got the runaround from the adjustor from day one denying interior damage without even looking at it. Was then reimbursed for wrong policy coverage had replacement cost reimbursed initially for NON replacement costwhich they knew I had but just wanted to mess with me. After a month to get this straightened out they reduced their original estimate and I had to pay the claims out of pocket first...what...yes you read that right. paid out of pocket first then they re-imbursed me minus my deductible and then reduced the second appraisal a second time because they said my contractors quote higher than ins. adjustor didnt explain for the higher original ins. adjustors quote...REDICULOUS. Do NOT use this company I will NEVER use them EVER again FOREMOST SUUUCKS it has been 5 months on a claim that should have been settled in one week"

"i just had a waterline in the wall of the laundry room develop a leak and do damage to the laundry room wall and floor and bathroom floor. I was told that since my home was 19 years old this was a result of normal wear and tear and is not covered. I think it is ridiculous that apparently i should have been tearing out walls in my home checking plumbing out for normal wear and tear. I pay 84.00 a month for this wonderful coverage Im going to do a formal complaint with the insurance commission. People need to stay away from this greedy company."

" I didnt have a credit history so my beacon score isnt high enough so I had to pay in full for a year at the time. I have done so on time for three years. I renewed my policy about a month ago paying in full for another year. Yesterday I got a letter of cancellation from Foremost due to some eave and soffit dry rot and peeling porch paint also a storage room with an exit doesnt have steps... the door hasnt been used since I moved into this home. I called my agent who laughed and said there were also two gas cans on my front porch that concerned them. I guess no one places a gas can on the porch while mowing a lawn. Its hurricane season and I am faced with finding a new insurance company. I am very very unhappy. Foremost didnt even have the courtesy to tell me what they wanted changed and give me time to do it. I have a week to find replacement insurance or do without because no one in alabama will insure you during hurricane season if you dont have existing insurance. What the heck am I to do now"

"Totally shocked @ having a loss of my boat durring last summer. Foremost could not have been more helpful and courteous. Took the pictures of the boat and the quote for the repair, Foremost arranged for the removal of the boat and sent me a check. How much simpler could it be. Timely, courteous and prompt. What more could an insured ask from a company?"

"Make sure you know exactly what policy covers. Paid highprice for unoccupied home insurance, and when an upstairs toilet tank crack led to extensive water damage downstairs, I was told it would only be covered if water damage was result of fire or vandalism. They never offered there was additional coverage I could have purchased to cover this."

"i filed a claim reference interior water damage. My kitchen, pantry, laundry room and childs bedroom were affected. the hardwood was destroyed, the water leaked through the subfloor, carpet in bedroom was damaged. my low estimate was 11,000.00 Foremost allowed 3,600.00 what was interesting was, they paid 120.00 for 16hrs of labor to remove flooring in kitchen. Thats 7.50 an hour. im yet to find a contractor to work for 7.50 an hour. one contractor stated that his labor alone would be roughly 3,000.00. "

"We had a burst water pipe in the roof. They offered a meager amount to cover the costs. The amount was 1/2 of the lowest of 3 quotes. They then, after we contacted a supervisor in the company, made a deal with the lowest quote contractor to bring down his price even more before agreeing to pay him. We felt so bad as we knew the estimate of the damage, building ourselves, that we ended up paying the contractor more than Foremost gave him!"

"AAA would not insure me because of the age of the house I inherited. They sent the information over to Foremost and they insured me at a high rate. I paid them a significant downpayment. A month later I received a cancellation notice because of peeling paint which they knew of when they wrote the policy. They refunded a minor percentage of what I paid up front."

"Flood loss. Minium damage to foundation, but was told unless it is major it is not covered and I would have to hire an engineer to prove damage is caused by flooding. I am pretty much convinced it covers nothing if it does not cover foundation damage. "

"Basically we paid a premium for them to tell us nothing is covered. They are a rip off. We have a house that is a total loss, but according to them we are not covered."

"I will NEVER recommend anyone to this company! My house burnt down over two months ago and they still wont settle. They always have some excuse as to why the check isnt there. Ive been left practically homeless. They say they will cover your additional living expenses and I havent seen a penny from it. They (adjuster) wont answer your phone calls nor will he call you back. "

"Foremost was there the next week after Hurricane Frances. They were extremely fair and when we had a health issue related to mold Foremost paid out the limits of the policy. We needed them again after Hurricane Wilma. This time much less damage but same great service. "

"Fire started in wiring near heat pump air handler unit. Everyone I talked to in the company gave me a different story. Originally told verbally living expenses are covered--answered questions and got specific verbal approval for motel at x dollars a night, food, additional travel expense, etc. Then after making these expenditures, reimbursement was denied. Showed log of conversations agreeing to cover this portion of the claim, and they eventually paid some. Then they went back on their own damage and restoration estimate (which included air handler replacement), cutting their payment nearly in half AFTER the work was done and denying the air handler unit based on the idea that it started the fire---with no evidence from ANYONE that the fire started here---actually have unanimous statements that the fire started next to the unit, not in it. Answered the same set of questions over and over again. Currently waiting on them to give specific reasons for the drastic cuts they made in their own estimate when it came time for payment. Currently pursuing settlement with Foremost through the Appraisal Process. Avoid doing any business with this company!"

"Ditto all the other complaints. Heed them well. USAA referred me to them. Slow on claims. Agents and adjusters won't speak with you. Have been without rooms and baths for 3 weeks. Found an RV rental that will direct bill them so we have alternative living. Got a check with no back up data. Scary. Won't cash until I confirm it is not final / full release. They are definitely not forthright or transparent. Only method for communication is by fax with no response. Woman who comes in line will tell you what you want to hear with no results. Dept of Ins. really needs to look closely at the unfair claims practices. This is a company on the verge of being taken over by the DOI."

"Foremost loves the word "denied". They told me that my shed contents were covered the same as the mobile home, but when the shed was illegally entered and personal property stolen I was told I do not have "theft" insurance on the contents of the shed. However, the mobile home DOES have it. I was also asked for photographs and receipts for having a water leak in the kitchen floor repaired although I was "denied" the claim, and was told my Foremost insurance would not be renewed if I did not furnish those items."

"I used them through USAA (an extremely good and powerful company which supports military persons) for a mobile home because USAA would not insure a mobile home. I had severe rain damage and it took forever (2-3 weeks) to get an adjuster and I still do not have my check. I literally was homeless with two cats. I had to move in with a stranger. The stranger robbed me. The mobile home had severe mold through the damage and I could not go back in. I am on the phone with them now, the lady is very nice and helpful, but that does not solve my problem of getting my mobile home back to livable standards. I will be contacting USAA and telling them these negative reports. "

"Filed a claim after Hurricane Ike. It has been three weeks now and still have not seen an adjuster. I have been told now it will probably be another coule of weeks before they can get to me. RIDICULOUS. These people are a bunch of crooks. They take your money monthly but when it comes time for them to pay you are put on the back burner. "

"I bought a motorcycle policy, but cancelled it 3 days later when they wanted to add over $800 to my $705 m/c policy due to a prior accident. After cancelling the policy, they kept $205 of my initial payment of $287 for administrative charges ( punishment for cancelling ). Stay far away from this company, read the fine print and read as many reviews ( online ) for any company you're considering... "

"They found a way not to pay for my claim 2 times. The first time they told me they would not pay unless I kept the heat on all winter in my summer home. This was because they said we did not properly shut down the plumbing. I kept the heat on which cost over $1,000 and there was a power shortage which turned the heat off, then turned it back on after the pipes froze, causing water to flow throughout my entire house. For this I was paid $3,000!"

"Had to involve insurance commisioner to even pay for motorcycle repair. Foremost is representing the uninsured motorist who hit me to 'limit thier losses'. 3 year ordeal and counting."

"Motorcycle insurance through Foremost is FAR more expensive than through other companies, such as GEICO. NOT good. I was able to get a year long policy from GEICO for around $200/year, and it cost me 3 times that at Foremost. A ripoff."
