"I cancel my policy, for future payments.. I Have a large balance, 14 years, never used the insurance. Can not get my money back... Would not recommend this insurance. Payments almost doubled. when I turned 70."

"We bought Long Term Care and they have had to revise policy 2 times in 3 years. Very poor planning on their part and the increases aren't insignificant. Their actuaries don't know what they are doing."

"Thought we were lucky no premium increases for our husband/wife long term care policies for seven years. A month and a half before the eighth anniversary, we each have a 60% premium increase, Is this planning or what?"

"Extremely knowledgeable sales representative very responsive customer service department. competitive premiums for life and long term care insurance. AAA overall experience "

"1. We had to file the same paperwork came information twice. No explanation.2. We filed a joint application for Long Term Care Insurance. They accepted and started billing me even though they had rejected my wife.3. They rejected my wife solely on the basis of her asking her physicial IF she had a medical problem.4. They made no attempt to contact my wife or her physicians to learn more or to discover the final diagnosis.5. When we sent medical reports that showed a negative diagnosis our appeal was rejected without explanation.6. Meanwhile they kept sending notices of overdue payment to me. I canceled the policy."

"I had the same experience of trying to make a payment for reinstatement. They used every trick to delay and prolong the process of reinstatement. I was a customer for 10 years and this is how I get treated. They used canned reponses to discourage you. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for fifteen minutes (another ploy)I never had problems with First Colony, until they were purchased by Genworth."

"Genworth is only interested in collecting premiums. Once you file a claim, they try to intimidate you and look for any possible way to avoid payment. "

"Term life insurance premium bill jumped from $279/year to $1,041 in one year. I am a very healthy 63 year-old female with no family history of serious illnesses. Their on line quote for the same insurance was $438/year."

"although after 6 months they finally agreed to pay the claim on a long term care policy, the wait and the amount of anxiety they caused for the claiments was unnecessary and uncalled for. they would ask for information, it would be provided, and they would ask for the same information again and again. seems like you really have to fight for your rights with this company. "

"when they took over GE raised my rate 55% now 2008 they want to raise it another 65% from $212 a quarter to $383 62 year old healthy male retired. try to phone them and can't get through the automated system. Very poor customer service"

"We bought this loser as an investment with a death insurance policy . It has been a terrible loser since we invested in it. After 4 years it was just about back to being even with what we began then this financial mess happened and it is now 40% of it's purchase price."
