"The claims service is pretty good, but they're changing everything. A lot of new people who don't know church business and it sounds like they're trying to get out of church and school business."

"GuideOne has totally changed the last year or so - new management across the board. Their focus is moving away from churches to high risk entities, and they're already struggling financially having recently moved to A- with a negative outlook."

"The worst insurance company for a church. We pay over 30,000 a year and had a drain pipe over flow lots of water, they refused to pay. Their policies are written to scam you, I wish all the churches would pull out."

"Our church had a million dollar policy with Guide One. They didn't honor their policy. As a result we lost a lawsuit and we are being forced to sell our property."

"After having a car accident, I can never get a hold of this lady. A couple of times I called her and left a couple of voice mails. The next day she would call me, but mostly she did not. I felt like I had to drag information from her. It was the most irritating insurance company I had to deal with."

"Only reason I did not rate this Extremely satisfied is the earthquake insurance is not good. With the changes in Oklahoma, Earthquake coverage should be as easy as tornado damage coverage. In my research this is the same code with most Oklahoma insurance providers."

"Had the worst service ever. Will not go back. First off my car insurance keep getting higher every month since day one. They keep making excuses that my payment will be pay off next month. Next month comes around same thing. I was tired from emailing and contacting them about my monthly payment that didn't make any sense.Seem like she didn't know what she was doing. Didn't have a good explaination of why I keep paying more. However, she email and notify me that she no longer working for the company. Wonder why? There's more to it but I really don't want to put it out there. Therefore, I recommend everyone to use another insurance company. Guide one is terrible."

"I was with GuideOne for over seventeen years, had one claim on one of my two houses during that time period and no claims on my four autos. The claim was handled quickly and fairly, the claim was during the first fourteen years. My opinion of this company was completely reversed during the last three years of the seventeen years I was with them. I obtained insurance through another provider and canceled my policies as of their expectation dates. Shortly after I received several bills from GuideOne stated I owed for earned coverage. This was negotiated from several hundred dollars down to under one hundred and promptly turned into their collection agency. "

"Our church was sued by a person. GuideOne stated in our policy that we had coverage for this situationMillion dollars. GuideOne denied our claim. On top of that they took their time communicating with us which put us in a very difficult position. We feel GuideOne didn't honor our policy and left us with no coverage for a lawsuit.Needless to say we will never recommend GuideOne to anyone. They take your money and hang you out to dry "

"My car was stolen the police found it less than a week later and it was no longer drivable. I sent GuideOne the police report and the estimate from my local repair shop. Weeks later as my car still sat at the repair shop waiting they insisted on sending out their own private person to do the estimate. The representative handling my claim finally called me today almost 3 months later she said all of the damages done to my car are a result of "normal wear and tear" so they will not be paying me anything. My family has has Guide One for nearly two decades and this is how I am treated. We will be canceling ASAP. Do not go with Guide One they are shady and will do anything to get out of paying for a claim."

"Just haad water heater burst and damaged home. We got 3 extimates for damages. Adjuster called yesterday and offered half that amount. We will probably have to sue. Sad because I have been with this company over 20 years"

"This is the worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. First they won't allow our organization to use any 15-passenger van over 20 years old regardless of maintenance or physical condition. Second I've had days of hassle from them trying to get coverage on a bus we're leasing from another non-profit where our old carrier was able to issue the certificate in a matter of minutes. This much hassle from any company is simply not worth it"

"Had this company for over 15 years get a better rate through Allstate and company charges you late fees and turn you into collection agencies after you've Allready started policy with Allstate. My policy ended same day Allstate took over and they still try to keep charging you"

"they do not want to pay for my car that was totaled. we have full coverage on the car. they told us we payed too much for the car. it was a 2012 Toyota camry with a little over 27000 miles on it. all we are asking is for them to pay off the car so we can buy another one. if they don't pay this one off we cannot buy another car. we were given the the most rude insurance adjuster. she would not listen to how the accident happened. she kept interrupting me while I was telling her about the accident. we have talked to three different people and they still will not give us the answers to our questions. it would be nice if they were on our side."

"If you are a pastor and your church is insured with GuideOne find a new company for your needs and do so quickly By simply asking a question regarding coverage GuideOne non-renewed our policy. With this action it has been very difficulty to purchase new insurance. Furthermore our policy was managed through Max Mutual Insurance. GuideOne and Max made the non-renewal decision 10 months without informing our congregation. Both companies responded in an unethical manner. Do not believe either company's God talk. Both are only in business for the money and have no interest in serving the greater good of God's Kingdom. "

"We filled two separate claims with GuideOne. The first customers at that time for seven years without any claims was handled very quickly with little question and easily.The second claim was after we had been with them 16 years-after 9 years in our second home. After looking at the house they said they would not cover the claim and said the problem was due to a fixable problem with the roof. They then cancelled our insurance and would not reconsider insuring us even if the problem with the roof was fixed and corrected."

"I bought a fixer upper in August of 2008. I since remodeled the inside completely. March of 2012 I had hail damage. A 800 claim and this company tried finding ways to cancel my policy. This company will burn you. NOT TO BE TRUSTED"

"This company will use any means possible to get out of paying legitimate claims. They are happy to receive your payments but if you need them to pay up they are quite difficult. Wish I had listened to the reviews before we purchased insurance from Guide One."

"I was rear ended in a car accident. Once the other partys insurance assumed liability Guide One stopped even giving me guidance and didnt return my calls. I needed help which Guide One did not give."

"Had hail damage and most homes in our subdivision had roofs replaced. GuideOne said there was less that 1k damage which was below our deductable. Then noted that if we didnt repair the damage to the roof that they could deny future claims. Been with the company for about 20 years and this is my first and last claim with this company."

"Their workers stated that at 60 per hour it wasnt worth saving anything in my home that was sentimental including the ashes of 2 of my late husbands and daughter. Ive been lied to by the adjuster and supervisors dont respond-except to say that the adjuster would handle it. I cant get to my boat as they piled walls and ashes in front of it-after I told them not to."

"This company is the worst company and they are only in it for the money and when it comes to you needing them its like you never exsisted to them.. They have people work from home who are not professional and do things when they want to, they take it upon them self to return a call when they want."

"Upon filing a claim with the company, they don not return calls or answer their phone. The have been extremely unhelpful throughout the process and will not even fully reimburse the amount owed. Terrible customer service and a terrible company!"

"They are not a insurance company. They take money monthly/yearly and in your time of need will pay as little or nothing if possible. They are a scam. I would highly recommend anyone to run!!!!!"

"DONT! use Guide one people!! we have had home insurance with them for over 11 years and had only one claim in august of 2009, in our time of need and comfort from loosing our home they overwhelmed us in paper work, and mis leading us in everyway you can imagine, our so called adjuster never returned calls never would meet to explain anything so we could understand it,they have done everything you can imagine to not to pay the claim,after months of trying we finally got a lawyer when they found out they stopped paying our rent for the housing we were in and all the rental furniture and left us and our two kids out cold and then went up 800 dollars on our premium they have tried to ruin us and we still havent settled, so please people do not use this company, and for those just like us just pray and keep fighting companys like this that are tearing good familys down and treating them like dogs when they need comfort in their time of need."

"I was hit by an uninsured motorist and my ankle was injured. The whole time that I was getting treatment my claims examiner was my best buddy in the world. After I refused the settlement offer(which was a couple of hundred dollars over the total medical cost) she would not return my phone calls. I have called over 5 times with an amount that I consider fair and now I am seeking an Attorney to sue my own(soon to be ex) insurance company. After buying this ins. I got a lot of my friends to switch to them and now I will offer to pay the difference for them to leave guide one"

"GuideOne insurance does not work well with the military, I was activated for deployment and they refused to work with me. To say the least this company difficult to work with and is unpatriotic. I do not recommend anyone waste time on them."

"When I needed my agent he provided no help. The main office part time guy was great, but showed me everything my agent never told us. I have been with this company since 1984 and am making a change."

"I had a burst waterpipe that did several thousand dollars worth of damage to my home. GuideOne sent out an adjuster, they worked with my contractor and the entire process was smooth and easy."

"In short, the company made up excuses to avoid payment on my claim. As a contractor, I saw right through these lies. I had to hire an attorney, pay for the repair up front, and file suit in court for reimbursement of damages. They fought me until the end, never settled, and lost anyways. It ended up being very expensive for them in the end. Avoid this company at all costs, they do not practice what they preach. "

"You had better have a very good attorney if you are with Guideone. You will never know how terrible this company is until you have a fire or flood and then you will find them obstructive to the point of operating in bad faith. If you are a church, find someone else to insure you. These guys are wolves among sheep. Buyer beware!!"

"I have filed auto claims as well as homeowners claims and have been treated very professionally by all involved. They have been prompt to pay any claim that I have made in the 15 plus years of using them."

"I had hail damage to my roof and siding. They acted promptly to replacing my roof. They took a bit longer on my siding, but replaced all sides of my house. My local agent has been great! "

"We are in the middle of a fire claim and we're very dissatifed with the handling of our claim so far. They offer us absolutely no help. All they seem to tell us is the many very expensive items that are not covered; now my agent tells me! We are overwhelmed with all the many things we are trying to do ourselves with no help from our so called "adjuster" and our agent. By state law, we only have so many days to compile a list of destroyed items, get the many requested estimates and proof of ownership, and replacement cost prices of the destroyed items. We are obsolutely exhausted and frustrated and get no help from GuideOne. We are greatly disappointed with our GuideOne agent, who took our premiums for over 17 years without ever coming by our house again to see what we have accummulated. And,unfortunately, we will not receive a dime for many items that I would have gladly paid extra for, had I only known that they weren't covered. This company is having a field day with us, don't let them get to you!"

"I have had the same agent for 10 years, and have been very happy. I have a few minor auto claims, but just filed my first homeowners claim. The adjuster was at my house in 2 days, and actually pointed out some things that I had missed. Interesting to note that he works out of the same office as my agent. For those of you with negative reviews, I think it could be your agent, not the company as a whole."

"Raised rates on me within a year. Informed me that my credit rating had dropped (it hadn't - rated at 803). All my conversations with the agent always seemed as if they are super picky about things. Makes me question whether claims would be processed quickly and without a lot of hassle."

"I have been with Guide One for 11 years. I had two claims with them, no problem. After adding my teenager to the policy my rate definitely went up. I began to get quotes from other insurance companies and some were quite lower. I began to research those companies (scary). I had second thoughts about switching. You have heard the saying "You get what you pay for". Cheaper does not alway mean better. I decided to stay with Guide One."
