"HMO with tons of operational problems. Website is an accurate, difficult to navigate, constantly goes down. Billing problems, late lab results, and incorrect prescriptions forced me to leave after 30 days. Stay away."

"Health Net will go to any length to avoid authorization and payment of claims. HealthNet has a history of delaying tactics. In 2017, I had a reoccurrence of Stage 4 ovarian cancer. I received all my medical care at Stanford Womens Cancer Center. In April 2017, I was prescribed a newly FDA approved drug, Zejula. Health Net did everything possible to deny coverage. The medical team at StanforD spent endless hours providing medical documentation regarding the appropriateness and urgency of getting this medication. Stanford said Health Net was the ONLY company that engaged in these delaying tactics. After two months and threats of lawsuits, Health Net finally agreed to pay for this life saving medication. HealthNet plays a waiting game hoping the patient will die, thus avoiding paying for the prescribed medication. As a business owner, we cancelled HealthNet as an option for our employees. We now offer another insurance company. BOTTOM LINE-STAY AWAY FROM HEALTHNET-THEY HAVE A LONG HISTORY OF SUCH DEPLORABLE DELAYING PRACTICES."

"You can see by all of the complaints that Health Net doesnt give a dam about what people think of them, they just keep stealing your money. Avoid this organization at all costs Health Net is by far the absolute worst health care company of any kind that I have ever dealt with. These incompetent, medically negligent and stupid people should be tried for criminal negligence"

"I submitted all info requested. i picked the most expensive policy and sent them a large amount of money to apply. my monthly payment was just under 200mo. i was not receiving any information from them, and made calls after calls to find out why.I live in an area where mail goes to a P.O. Box. this was explained, however they still demanded a physical address.they kept sending my policy info to my physical address, and of course, it would be returned back to them. I asked a person at the post office to watch my mail, and see what address they were sending it to.As expected, they were not sending my paperwork to my PO Box.I sent a copy of the address they sent it to, which was ignored. So all the money i sent, they kept, cancelled my policy and refused to pay my claims. This Obama Care has not only cost me alot of money, but that you can choose your own doctor, well good luck finding one. I called for an appointment, and was told the first appoinment available would be in three months. My reply was 3 months Iam sick today she told me I could go to their clinic. I went , and there must have 300 people waiting to be seen. I am retired and I have never been so discussed with the options for healthcare I"

"I have Lymphedema and they told me to get my authorization for medical compression garments through the proper vendor after the previous vendor I used was denied. I did as they said and they say they are going to deny the claim even though CA state law states that they must cover compression garments for lyphedema."

"Even though they have been good about paying for medications, and for some standard tests/exams, I definitely have a few complaints. I just found out that they denied a referral to a much-needed specialist appointment, for what seems to be baseless reasons. I see my PCP in a little over a week, and MAYBE based on getting a physical, and repeating an ultrasound, they will approve the referral.>>Also, a few times when I've called their customer service, I've gotten reps who don't seem to care all that much about my needs, or even get defensive with me when I complain about something Healthnet has done.>>Last week, when I did an online request for verification that they'd received my premium payment, the email they sent me had a link when I clicked on it, it just sent me to a blank screen, no matter which browser I used.>>Pretty disappointed for the most part with Healthnet."

"Health net is fine until you have an issue and try to get it resolved. Call center is in India and takes a minimum of 45 minutes to get to someone who might be able to help you, most likely not. I have had an issue with the claims department processing claims under the wrong ID their fault and have spent a total of 8 hours on the phone and it is still not resolved."

"They always have denied every claim..I'm stuck with Healthnet through my employer. I either enroll with Healthnet or pay penalties to the IRS if I don't file proof of coverage. It is nothing more than mandatory insurance that won't pay benefit.. It is slightly less than the federal penalty for not having insurance. Next year the penalties will go up and I expect the premiums will also go up next year. If you have a choice, don't choose Healthnet."

"They are fine as long as you never get sick or in an accident and havt to use the insurance. You can die before they pay a claim and then they pay a wrong amount. The customer service or I should say the lack of customer service stinks. They are rude, will not help or even try to help get claims taken care of and refuse to recomend someone to help take care of your problem. I have never in my life been treated so terrible by someone that could care less if they do a thing to help and if you ask to talk to someone else for help they just hang up on you. If there was any justice in this world they would be put out of business."

"Awfulcompany. I had an accident and needed to use the urgent care. When I showed up, I was told that I had to make a appointment and the soonest was a week away. I needed an x-ray at the appointment and had to wait another week. I went for a physical and the doctor kept looking at her watch and said that I would have to come back to complete the physical. Another 2 week wait. Health Net has to be the worst health insurance.I'm going back to Kaiser, where the clock doesn't dictate my health care. We used to be with Health Net many years ago and it was acceptable and that's why I signed up. WHAT A MISTAKE "

"Health Net looks for ways to disqualify claims directed to them. The worst health care service I have ever had. The premium goes up all the while my overall health goes down. This seems like a game of insanity that is rigged against its members. I wish the regulators would put them out of business. "

"Bought individual family coverage through the exchange for 800 per month a 200 increase over my group health plan from my former employer. Every aspect of HealthNet's product is a disaster. Phone support is totally useless if you get past the usual busy signal UNACCEPTABLE you're put on hold for 30 minutes UNACCEPTABLE and then often disconnected UNACCEPTABLE.Initial coverage confirmation was over 30 days late UNACCEPTABLE.Once coverage was established Health Net had pre-selected a physician who was located 15 miles from my home UNACCEPTABLE at a primarily Spanish-speaking clinic and I don't speak Spanish. No doctor in my town or even within 15 miles wants to accept my plan. Or deal with Health Net.After calling and finally getting a request submitted to change my PTP I was told it would take over 30 days to become effective UNACCEPTABLE."

"More expensive than other PPOs with same coverage. Under dental policy for additional fee will not pay anything for cleaning by periodontist because it is not basic cleaning by a dentist. Took more than 30 days to get prior authorization for a "specialty" medication and then an additional 2 weeks for Rx to be filled by their contracted specialty pharmacy CVS/Caremark who refers to the retail "cash" price of medication rather than their substantially discounted contract rate. Impossible to get through to customer service--announced telephone waiting times are in excessive of 40 minutes. Horrible company. "

"I had Kaiser while we lived in CA. Oh how I wish they were in AZ. Now that I am on Medicare I would love to have an insurance company that actually does care instead of just taking the money from Medicare for premiums. I pay more for medical services than the insurance pays. Calling them and getting any answers to your questions is impossible. I would never recommend Health net to anyone. I am keep it because when you look at the comments about other insurance companies one is as bad as the other. Please Kaiser come to AZ. "

"I actually have not had this insurance but i felt compelled to write a review on the company and their underwriting process. I was applying for myself and my twins. I already knew my wife couldn't get insurance b/c of some history of infertility. But healthnet pretty much denied me of coverage b/c my spouse had some history of infertility. NOT ME my spouse who wasn't even applying for this stupid company. I am 35 and in perfect health with no history of anything. Actually they offered me coverage but for 5x more than the premium that i was applying for. The amount was so ridiculous that I can basically say they denied me coverage cause no idiot would pay what they offered for one person. On top of that my daughter is only 15 months and she had mild hx of reflux and when i applied she was free of any reflux symptoms for 6 months and doing just fine but they denied coverage again and offered an alternative for another ridiculous amount. Funny thing is though After reading these reviews I'm kinda glad i got denied. I wouldn't want this kind of company running my healthcare anyway. "

Health Net has a section on their website to report fraud? What about the fraud they are committing by taking government money for Medi-Cal based patients and then denying them the medical help they always got when they were on straight Medi-Cal? Where is the website to report the fraud they are committing against sick and disabled patients?"

"Health Net is absolutely terrible in processing claims as secondary insurance for Medicare. They cannot read the Medicare EOBs and claim that Medicare allowed almost half of what they do allow. Despite appeals sometimes they fix the problem and sometimes they do not. Each claims adjuster pays the claims differently. "Beware. If you have Medicare--and by medicares own laws medicare is secondary Healthnet will also declare themselves secondary. Although they ARE primary in my case they are denying claims and creating hardship and difficulty in clarifying the issues. They have incidentally pocketed my premiums with no objection and NOT as a supplement. Look elsewhere. It may be that the point of insurance these days is simply to collect premiums and then figure out ways to deny coverage. "

I have submitted for an appeal with it being denied again and my sons specialty doctor has submitted countless documents and it has been denied again. They also would not cover his pulmonary hypertension medication that was needed to keep him alive. It took 2 doctors and the PICU team to tell them either cover it or he will stay in the PICU at $6-10,000 a day. After 5 days of this HN FINALLY decided to cover his medication. Many referrals have been denied or it takes 1-2 months to get an urgently needed referral. This company has no heart!"

"Health Net needs to be reported to government regulators for failing to provide timely coverage for serious health issue needs. The customer service is not helpful, the process of getting approved care is painful, and surgeons who work for fully covered hospitals are considered Out-of-Network if they also have a private practice. I can not say enough, Health Net should be avoided at all costs. Employers need to switch agencies, health care providers need to refuse coverage, and hospitals need to lobby local and federal officials to have this companies tactics change."

They also work hard at "delaying" benefits. Over all a very poor company to work with. They should not be so intricately involved in my personal health issues."

"Health Net is practically organized crime! Our plan switches over in November (because that is the way our company's HR person set it up). So anyone who uses the coverage in December and again in the next year has to pay all deductibles TWICE!!! And HealthNet knows about the problem and assures us there is just nothing they can do. They are crooks! Look elsewhere."

"They do everything they can to keep fom paying claims, both to doctors's offices as well as patients. They are okay with routine costs, but if you get sick or injured, they will do everything they can not to help. Their appeals process its not transparent - their in-house doctors reject things as being "Medically unneccessary" despite having two or three doctor's refuting it. They will cover surgery, but they are terrible about PT before or after."

"Refused to cancel my policy, in spite of numerous requests. Instead, kept billing me. Charges were not authorized. Unwilling to resolve the matter and forced me to go through a broker (eHealthinsurance) to resolve the situation, instead of resolving the error directly themselves. Extremely unprofessional, corrupt."

"This company will use a number of tricks to keep from covering your basic health care. I am a women and they would not cover an annual OBGYN appointment, but they would have covered cholesterol testing or dermatology (even though, those are things you don't necessarily need to get annually). "

"Was very surprised to see this company's poor rating. They have been there for my family's EVERY health insurance need and could not imagine a better company out there! "
