"Humana Medicare Advantage Medicare Part C or Humana Gold Plan is a waste of time, money, and patience. This company does not even deserve a single star and if it were possible to give it a quarter star, I would. Do Not Use This Company no matter how desperate you may be for a Medicare replacement plan. My recently deceased mother had a contract with Humana's Medicare Advantage Medicare Part C Plan. Ever since her death, they have been denying every claim submitted to them for every possible and impossible reason they can find--duplicate claim on the very first claim submission, not a covered service inpatient stay, outpatient radiology services, etc. , other insurance there is none, not a contracted provider provider says he's contracted, hospice not for the dates of service involved, missing information, etc. On top of that, several previously paid providers contacted me demanding payment in full for claims that had been previously paid by Humana because after my mother's death Humana went back to them and demanded the providers refund their Humana payments claiming those claims had been paid in error. Calling the company's 800 number resulted in my being on the receiving end of being hung up on, told they ...could only talk to the member despite the member being deceased, could not talk to me without a court order does not exist, etc. They also have copies of every legal document I have showing I am the legally authorized contact person. My mother paid those premiums faithfully and on time every single month so making this behavior beyond reprehensible. At this point, total billed charges are unknown but I am currently aware of bills from multiple providers totalling more than 45,000.00 and expect more to crawl out of the woodwork as this drags on."

"Every time I get a new prescription, Humana Health Care of Texas always has to ask the doctor questions which prolongs the filling of the medicine. Last time this happen with my daughter having an allergic reaction and NEEDED the medicine. I called them and they said they wanted to question the doctor if this medicine was right for the illness. So rediculas they want to play doctor remotely without seeing a patient. I ended up buying the prescription outright for 13.00 Worst insurance Ive ever had in my life and do not recommend."

"Two times, I have had prescriptions that were in the 800.00 range. Both times before filling these scripts, both t I've called Humana to see if they would reimburse me if I paid out of pocket. Both times, I was told by the most incredibly inept representatves that if I paid out of pocket, i would be reimbursed 75 % because I had tried all other medications for the ailments that I had, and because of that, I would be reimbursed. The first prescription took me 4 months to get reimbursed because Humana Managers would come up with some lame excuse why they wouldn't reimburse me. I'm now battling the second prescription that cost almost 900.00, which I called Humana first and of course was told since it was the last medication to try for ailment, I would be reimbursed 75 %. That was the beginning of April, almost 2 months ago . Now a Humana manager is saying the medication is not approved by the F.D.A.. I showed my pharmacist the email saying this. He laughed and said if iwasnt approved by the F.D.A. he couldn't dispense it. It is truly pathetic, criminal and in this case, according to the governing board of insurance companies, illegal. They are investigating Humana cause I have all e emails with this bogus claim. Don't worry, I'll get my reimbursement. You just have to send All your evidence to the governing board of insurance and they'll jump right on it. I was told by a very high ranking member of this board that Humana is BY FAR , THE WORSE INSURANCE COMPANY WHEN IT COMES TO LIES AND DECEPTION.. they just hope you give up and they won't have to pay.They are awful, spiteful, criminals who should not have a licence to sell insurance. Unfortunately, they are the only insurance company that my job offers. You'd do better dying in a cold, wet drain then to have Humana as your insurance company."
