"I have had this policy over 20 years . Good cash value built up. Took a loan against it many years ago. Get nothing but runaround and excuses when trying to facilitate paying off loan amount with built up cash value. I think they just want to string out collecting interest . This used to be a good company . Been doing business with them since the sixties. Im appaled at the number of negative reviews with complaints of procrastination and mishandling."

"They are denying I have ever had a life policy which I have been paying and have bonus certificates for since 1985 it's worth over 70000 pounds ....complete cheats"

"We had this policy for yearsmore than 30and cancelled it. All the money was then used to pay premiums we had cancelled and we ended up with nothing. Hundreds of dollars gone to fat cat insurance company."

"They have such turnover in agents can't get a straight answer. They don't seem to be supporting life insurance anymore so they try to sell investments. Have to deal with call center because agents aren't trained. Have been given misinformation repeatedly.. Now they tell me my whole life policy not considered whole life anymore, and that it will lapse at some point, even though I have paid premiums on time for 30 years. So when we will need it some day, it won't be there. Bad company"

"Delays, Delays Delays They tell you one thing, and send you completely different info in writing. Say they have requested info from a medical facility, when you call the facility they say the haven't received any request. Been working on this since early 2016, its now October and I am no closer to an answer than I was in January. Do not use this company for std or ltd as they are never going to pay you"

"Part of the class action law suit group. Variable Appreciable Life policy since the mid 80's. I simply want to have an online account so I can download my statements. They are telling me that they don't support these polices that were part of the class action suit, because we have to do these policies by hand. What They use a pencil and a pad of paper No computers No data in a file No way to make a pdf or word document Save yourself some grief, don't ever buy any type of product from Prudential. This policy has generated more angst in my life than anything I have ever bought. Their inability to put up a pdf of my statement in an on line account for download confirms this company is stuck in 1965."

"This insurance company completely sucks. They could care less about their clients. I filed a short term disabiliy claim an they totally were againt paying any benefits, br despite the fact my doctor ruled my unable to work indefinetely. They were very rude an said he I have a right to appeal. They have been collecting my premium for years this was my first claim. Stay away from prudential they are complete crooks."

"I feel they bait and switch us by saying what we wanted to buy and selling USA product we told them we didn't want. Then they cancelled one of the policies claiming we didn't make payment when we did. Finally they gave us a check for withdrawal of accumulated dividens without a letter. We had to call up to find out that the insurance finished its 30 year course and we got only $4000 for all the money we invested. "

"Have 2 policies with Prudential. Did not participate in class action because agent said lawsuit did not pertain to our policies. Now have huge loans and potential for policy to eat itself up. First policy taken out in 1971, second in 1987. I have written letters and received no help CROOKS I tell everyone not to do business with them "

"My husband and I took out life insurance with Prudential many years ago. We paid ALL premiums on time for many years until our "guaranteed" dividends kicked in to pay our premiums. We haven't paid on our policies for many years because our "guaranteed" dividends were suppose to carry us through. WELL NOW they say we have to start paying again because we have no more guaranteed " dividends left. They blame it on the economy. Well not my problem Prudential I shouldn't be responsible for YOUR poor handling of other peoples money. You don't want to take a loss so you are passing it on to your customers. Shame on you I "guarantee" I will not be referring ANYONE to do business with you "

"Long term health care claim for full benefit denied for my mother's policy when she was put in a memory unit from assisted living. The policy states that the full benefit would apply if six conditions are met. All six are met in the facility where my mother is a resident and her daily care has increased due to her illness. However the facility is not licensed as "skilled nursing" and therefore Prudential denied the claim. The care she is receiving is more than she would get in a "skilled" nursing home and the move to another facility would be traumatic to her. Prudential is playing with fire by denying a valid provided for claim under the excuse of semantics. The care and conditions outlined in the policy are being met. They delay make excuses and invite litigation - which is exactly what I am going to do. Not a great compassionate or wise company. Avoid doing business with Prudential."

"Have had a Prudential representative for years. Even his name and number always appeared on my bills and correspondence. Then the guy retired or left the company now I have no one to talk to about my policy and concerns and questions. I think this was a terrible move by Prudential not to assign a new rep to my account "

"With Prudential and their long-term disability insurance claims ALWAYS DOCUMENT ANY ENCOUNTER you have with them. When you are going through a tramatic health life change this Company makes it IMPOSSIBLE to feel secure safe and at peace. They badger their claiments with constant calls. And then one day the phone rings and surprise surprise it's your claims manager yet again. This time it's "our review board has determined you can work hence the payments end period. Please watch your back 24/7 with this unethical Company"

"My wife and I pay for short and long term disability insurance through her employer. Prudential is the carrier. It was easy to sign up and they were very happy and quick to take our direct payments. However due to a recent surgery we have had to use the short term disability. I understand certain red tape however we are not the type of people to abuse any system but we are certainly treated like this. PRU blames the Doctors office and the Doctors office blames PRU. I personally don't care who's at fault. I'm a consumer who paid for a service and after quite a bit of research I find that PRU will do anything to prevent cutting a check. Their customer service is horrible and does not return calls as they claim they will. Already in a stressful situation PRU's actions or inaction just causes further stress. No consumer should have to deal with this. I'm hopeful that someone from PRU reads these complaints and does something positive. If our situation does not get resolved soon I'll have no choice but to go to the press and the Better Business Bureau."

"I have had ST and LT disability with Prudential for over 20 years and when I try to use it one time they beat around the bush and say they never received the paperwork from the doctors. When in fact the doctor sent it in 3 times and I sent it in also along with hospital reports MRI various other doctor reports saying I was unable to work. They took 3 months to decide my case kept saying they need more paperwork Finally paid me for 2 1/2 months and sent a letter saying I was terminated for no reason. I was out a year of work. Nothing had changed I was still unable to work still going to the doctor and for treatment. I got a lawyer and appealed it in June and they said they needed an extension well today I got a termination letter. They took my money for 22 years without a problem but the hell that they put me through with the phone calls to them paperwork and doctors to get the same documentation over and over in hopes that you will give up and just go away. Someone need to investigate their practices. Too many people are being hurt by their greed and injustice. The emotion stress that I was put through by Prudential was horrible. I feel sorry for all of you that had to deal with them in your situations. I feel your pain.If you have a choice in insurance please do your research and choose a reputable company. Prudential's customer satisfaction rate is very low. I don't know who to contact but I am going to find out who to conctact about their fradulant practices."

"It has been 18 months since we filed a claim for my mothers life insurance from Prudential and we still do not have the account cleared. They have lost the paperwork 2 times including the death certificates for both of my parents which also cost money. They wanted a copy of the entire trust. Finally received a Fax number since the mail system was unreliable. They tried to keep saying that they needed more information but since I had the copy I could "help" them find the information and told them which page and line number to find the answers to their questions. Truly sad to think that you are already devestated by the death but still need to deal with Prudential in trying to collect the funds. I will not buy life insurance from Prudential and put my kids through what I am having to endure."

"Stay Clear Even with Doctor placing you on FMLA and completing health questionnaire taking you out of work with a medical condition ETC... They had me wait 6 weeks before they said Not approved?.. really? What do I pay insurance for? Why would a MD make the deciosion verses a Little Flunky behind a desk knowing zilch on my medical reasoning but what he has read I bet he has a hot plate tonight I bet his bills are being paid When My employer sends me a letter stating FMLA is approved and your return date with 60% pay is such and such This is utterly ridiculous I would never ever refer this company to anyone. I have called numerous times and received multiple inconsistent stories 6 Weeks?. Wow I will tell everyone I even encounter with about Prudential and the Unproffesional Kids that they employ.Very Dissatisfied "

"i have Prudential disability insurance through my employer and I was injured aad surgery and am currently out on short term disability. I have had nothing but problems from day one with this claim. I was out of work for almost 6 weeks before I received a weeks benefits. I have requested direct deposit for my payments on 4 differnet occasions and until this day, I still have paper checks coming(I've been out since the first week in March). I never received any papers for this that they supposedly sent me. My r. sent paperwork over to prudential after my last visit which was in the middle of may. My claims manager told me they received it last week and it would be reviewed. My case was turned over to a "claims specialist" who I spoke with yesterday ansd she was extremely rude on the phone said they never got any paperwork from them. She said I am not going to get paid because my employer canot accomodate my restrictions and my doctor doesn't know what he is doing because I don't have another appt. ntil the first of July. I tried to explain my situation and again she was rude, cut me off and yelled at me. She told me I have to call my Dr. and get papers and send them to prudential, I have to get papers from my therapist and send them to her also. I also have to make another appointment to see him one month from my last because my restrictions said to "increase duration of hours over a 1-2 month period" so I needed to go back and see him in 4 weeks. Myrestrictions said they were to be in ffect from 6-8 weeks but she didn't care about that. My employer is the one that said I have to go back between 6-8 weeks to be re-evaluated for release with no restrictions. She said that was ridiculous. Ia asked to speak with her supervisor and am still waiting for a return call. They do not care about you or your situation. I would like to know one thing...Do these Claims adjusters have medical degrees? because they think they do, and if so why are they working for insurance companies and not in the medical field? I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. I have worked for the same company for 22 years and have dealt with quite a few insurance companies and this is the worst by far."
