"This company is an administrative nightmare. I was one day late with a premium payment, they canceled the policy and took 2 weeks to tell me. So basically I drove around for 2 weeks without insurance and had no idea. They had no problem accepting the payment one day late. I am canceling the home owners and will go elsewhere."

"Extremely poor customer service. I cancelled my auto policy one Month and 12 before the renewal date and now getting letters stating my policy was cancelled due to non payment and that I would receive a late fee and other fees associated with a non pay situation. I have proof from my agent that I sent written notice of my cancellation and now threats to not refund what is legally owed. What a hassle and now have to call and make my case just to get what is rightfully owed to me. Also their billing site was very disorganized and would not link my account properly when I simply moved to a new home."

"The worst company and the worst possible experience ever ending in litigation. I prevailed. I believe they were dishonest and were brutally self-serving to the disadvantage of a client who had been with them for years with numerous policies. NEVER AGAIN"

"One minor claim in eight years which they settled to their advantage. Very inconsiderate and condescending. By far the worst experience I've had with an insurer including claims with the insurer of other liable parties."

"We have been with unigard insurance co. For over 20 years at least. We were gone fishing in Alaska for 3 months and were really broken into. Unigard covered all our loses no questions asked. Then our van was stolen while my wife stood on the deck motioning to her phone as the thief backed out of the drive way. The police took their sweet time and they got away. Unigard payed for a loaner for 2 weeks while we looked for a new car they sent us a very generous check. The car was eventually located and we phoned unigard to let them know.they told us it was our choice keep car or money so we keep they money not knowing. Over the years Ive priced other insurance companies they are not even close to ours. However lately customer service is slipping but time will tell."

"Declined to renew homeowners policy a month before it came up for renewal for reasons which had no basis in fact. Agent unable/unwilling to explain. In process of finding alternative insurance coverage. "

"It is 6 months since my auto accident claim has been filed, and Unigard has not given me a reasonable and fair offer to settle. The offer made is completely unreasonable and they have shelved my claim, hoping I will settle for less then what would even cover my out of pocket expenses. BeAware."

"Insured my home since 1967 with uniguard. One claim about 25 years ago. Another claim this summer for kitchen stove grease fire. Then about six weeks later when someone shot a hole in living room window with a pellet gun. The house has always been extremely well maintained. Uniguard just sent a letter informing me they will no longer insure me because of the two claims. Very unfair."
