"They lose your life insurance policy- repeatedly. Spend an hour to hour and a half on the phone while they try to find it. Most of the time they don't. When they do, they find one exists but can't give information or act in it. We have sent in 2 death certificates, obits, etc. And if they ever pay, it will be a miracle."

"MedicareMedigap claims are filed automatically and paid promptly. I utilize an Annuity to automatically pay medicare approved expenses that are not covered by the Medigap plan. Utilizing this method, I have not had any issues since the policy inception over ten years."

"Surrendered my policy on Feb. 06, 2018 and still have not received my check for the cash value of the policy. Seven weeks ago and still waiting. After surrendering the policy they still drafted my checking account for a premium payment. I stopped the bank draft and I have received two letters from the President of premium department asking for my premium payments. I called a month ago and tried to get my account settle and was giving the run around that they would send back my premium payment in three weeks and I finally got it, but have not received my cash value check. I am wondering by now if they are a scam and trying not to pay me."

"I have an inpatient hospital policy. Sent in the paper work for my inpatient hospital stay and they wouldn't cover it because they claim it wasn't inpatient. The hospital bills plainly state that it is inpatient. This company needs a multi billion class action suit against them with all the other people like me."

"This is a long term care policy that was taken out 12 years ago. We have had an awful nightmare from the beginning of using the home health part of this policy. The things they ask of you are totally unreasonable. They absolutely have no compassion or care for their policy holders."

"United is the worst company on planet earth this company is a scam. They have given me the run around about getting information on my 9 wholelife policies. The agent promised to come out to visit with me to go over my policies and flat out lie each time.Needless to say I am canceling all 9 policies with them"

"Not only did they not satisfy my claim in the midst of my grief after losing both my husband and mother they were rude uncaring dishonest and unprofessional. I have had 16 policies with this company for over 40 years. It is unbelievable how I have been treated. I will never do business with them again. Everyone I know will be told of my experience. I intend to see what can be done legally to both compensate me for punitive damages as well as satisfying my yet outstanding bills because of their incompetence. This is the worst company with whom I have ever had to deal"

"United American Insurance agent changed my paper work to the higher rate w/o my knowledge. I complained to my agents boss who directed me to the corporate office. The Corp office people decided that I have to go re-apply for the lower, cheaper rate. Why do I have to re-apply for the lower insurance? It makes no sense. My insurance was canceled about a year ago, but now that it is 2011 they start charging again. Now I have to fill out and affidavit at my bank to make them stop. Only a masochist would use use their pseudo insurance. Stay away from these thieves !!!"

"Mickey Mouse Insurance company that will do anything to weasle out paying claims. After being told by the sales person that we would be covered 80/20 on any required surgery the insurance company put a cap of $2000. Crooks!"

"This Company has not paid a penny on any of my medical bills. I should have quit them long ago. Beware of this company. "

"As long as the consumer has been notified that it is a limited benefit plan, with minimal payouts....it will work for healthy people.....If you have any medical conditions, you need to keep searching for a major med plan. I shattered a leg a couple of years back to the tune of $90,000. United American paid about $40,000 of that bill. I am being sued by one of the facilities for the balance."

"Sold this policy to us as an 80/20 policy. Their agent sat right in our dining room telling us their coverage was better and cheaper than Blue Cross. Told us about their drug discount program. One of my wife's medicines costs about $300.00 per month. We got $1.98 discount. Count on no prescription help at all. My wife had to be hospitalized for acute pancreatitis and ended up in intensive care. 26 days in the hospital in all. Total bill was over $123,000. UA only paid 30,000. ( 80/20?? )We now have to pay $93,000 out of pocket. DO NOT buy insurance from these liars and thieves. They use every excuse in the world to deny claims regardless of what they say during the sales pitch."

"I was told that this was an 80/20 policy when I ended up in the hospital they paid nothing of a 98,000+ claim and claimed prexisting condition even though the doctors provided proof that it was totally unrelated to any prexisting condition. I have placed approx 20 calls to my agent with no reply!!!"

"united American provides me with secondary insurane to Medicare. I started off payin just over $100 a month, which was reasonable. Now, they jacked my premium up to over $300 a month! Most months I don't have an occasion to even make a claim. I have to find a more affordable policy even though UA has been prompt about paying claims that I have made."

"United American insurance is great. I have had visits to the doctors and they paid what they said they would pay. My out of pocket is only $15 whenever I visit my doctor. I just recently signed up with UA partners plus and had my yearly exam, completely free. I didn't have to pay a dime. My deductable is only $500 but only if I get admitted to the hospital or if I have to have outpatient surgery. I recommend this insurance to my family and friends. My children's wellness visits are free till age 16. I had to take my two sons, one is 10 and the other one is 8, for their school physical and I paid $0. United American paid all of it. Thank you UA for helping me and my family afford health insurance. I highly recommend it. Oh, and btw, my agent is always helpful and friendly."

"Beware. They do not pay claims. I had blood work done and they would not pay the paltry $160 benefit amount because "Your policy provides a maximum Diagnostic Benefit of $160.00 for the treatment of any one condition." Their reasoning was that they had paid for blood work in 2006 for my thyroid condition, so they never had to pay it again! This company is unethical and should be ashamed of themselves!"

"I was very up set with how things got handled after they had my direct deposit set up. I switched banks and tried getting ahold of my agent several times over a course of 3 months to get the billing info changed so it didn't over draft my account. He didn't return a single phone call. Then i sent in 2 forms to have someone from the head office call me back to get it changed and both were left unanswered."

"They misled us about the coverage and were overall very unhelpful. The amount that was covered was actually surprisingly limited. I would not recommend them to anybody. Regardless of their decent price... pay more to get better coverage."

"This insurance company is a blessing to all consumers. It sincerely is, what insurance should be. The others are organized crime."

"Wife and I are self-employed and decided to pick up this insurance as an emergency (in case of complications) as she was pregnant. There were complications during the delivery and after six months of phone calls, complaints, and faxing in more and more additional doctors notes they finally said they would cover about half the delivery cost aprox $9,500 dollars by paying off the hospital and refunding us for what we had already prepaid. Well when the checks came in the mail the hospital was only half paid off and our refund check came in $2,500 less than they had told us. We decided to just cut our losses and move on. Will never use them again."

"Extremly limited coverage if any, not what was promised. Had I bought Blue Cross of Michigan I would have been covered for a pre-existing condition. UA put a rider on my policy for no coverage for 6 months. When I needed them they would not pay. Blue Cross would have been cheaper and saved me $70,000 in medical bills this year alone."

" My local agent was very knowlegable and honest. I was treated with great respect. I like having someone trustworthy to see rather than an impersonal 800 number for about the same price..."
