"My vehicle was"Felony Vandalized/over $450 in damage" The actual damage was $16,000 The vandal was caught, and admitted to the crime. Wawanesa had recent photos taken from my having lowered the deductible. They Refused to produce my file, and refused to produce the recent photos they had taken. To get out of paying the claim, they said I misrepresented the loss. They had proof of the condition of the vehicle a few months prior to the damage.They had a Police report wherein the perpetrator admitted to the vandalism. Then they canceled my policy after 10 years. It's as simple as that. I would not touch this insurance company."

"Wawanesa has been growing a lot. So much that they have not hired enough people to keep up with their growth. The result is that they don't answer their phones. They don't have any way to contact them by email. If you do get to speak with someone, they haven't been trained properly to handle your question or issue. They have an app, but it is pathetic. I get the impression that the entire workforce of this company is constantly overworked and playing catch-up."

"Also they have great towing service for 10 bucks extra each year Way better than AAA towing service price/card.And can't beat the service and prices and easy no hassle claims."

"Assessor came promptly and evaluated my car when I was hit by another. When a claim was made against me I felt they were not on my side. "

"My husband filed 3 no-fault car damage claims with Wawa over 15 years and each time we were treated horribly. Claims dept is rude like nothing Ive ever encountered anywhere. Im 55 and I recently filed my first auto damage claim ever in my life since age 16. I have been paying for full protection A auto insurance for nearly 20 years but Wawas claims person all but accused me of being responsible for the damages my parked car was sideswiped by a truck while I was in a meetingand refused to explain why they would not provide me with a vehicle because mine is not legal while damaged. They are the worst and I only regret having given them so much money over the years for both auto and home insurance weve NEVER made any claims for home insurance and only 4 auto claims in 20 years. Quite frankly Id prefer to pay higher premiums if thats whats required for professional and polite service."

"Outstanding company with great customer relations quick responses extremely competitive pricing along with longevity discounts Highly recommended Be forewarned though they are VERY SELECTIVE and SCREEN APPLICANTS thoroughly prior to signing."

"Almost 15 years with Wawanesau - Not only are they an Excellent Service company, but they are less costly BY A WIDE MARGIN than any others companies. I only found one company that beat them on price, but they had a DISMAL service rating."

"Wawanesa has great insurance but limited in the types of insurance policies they will provide. Therefore you will need to go elsewhere if you own more then one home or if the home you live in does not meet their criteria."

"Snow collapsed the roof of our 60 thousand 4 year old fifth wheel in a freak storm in southern calif. claims is trying to make it my fault and will not process the claim...it has been 30 days still no acceptance of responsibility....."

"I felt like they were the opposition when an uninsured motorist hit my wife it took 11 days to even tell us an answer to anything except were looking into it... when we had coverage just for that"

"They did NOT drop us after we totaled our car and were fully reimbursed by them. Our premiums did NOT go up!! great company."

"Great rates and they've responded extremely quickly when I've had to make claims (2). Zero issues, zero games, very fair and honest company to work with."

"I picked an insurance company that has a solid past and has been around for quite sometime. People who have issues w/Insurance companies do not understand how insurance is rated and what factors go into your premium cost. Insurance is a shared risk, not an investment. Premium too high? Make sure you're getting all credits due to you, check your deductibles, coverages (too high?) do what you can to keep your cost down. Premium still high? No claims? Excellent driving history? Your rates are then due to overall the high costs of covering medical and vehicle repair/replacement factors. Even if your vehicle ages. Nothing is cheap people!! "

"Extremely unresponsive claims department. Their attitude is just appalling (once you actually get someone on the phone): you are wasting their time by calling them and they let you know it."

"I think that their services were probably better prior to 2005 from all the reviews that I've read on the internet and talking to customers. Since then the company's claim practices has gone down hill to become almost fraudulent. They are known now to be unresponsive once you file a claim with them. There are customers left hanging (like myself) despite several attempts of "leaving messages". The claim supervisor is the same way. Their business practice reminds me of the pre-downfall of MCI WorldComm. They were audit by the US Department of Insurance in 2005, you can read about the findings yourself. It will reconfirm everything I just said and more. Please file a report thru the Dept of Insurance. If you have been screwed by Wawanesa's claims dept, please file a report with the Dept of Insurance, BBB and Attorney General along with any other agencies that will take your complaint. I'm hoping for a civil action lawsuit. Pros: 4 months advance billing and continuous reminders, their customer service dept is friendly but helpless. Cons: Don't expect a phone call from your adjuster. The supervisor is just as bad. Their 24-hr policy is just for formality. "

"This is a good insurer and I work in the collision repair industry and deal with the insurance business on a daily basis. I have a lot of experience with those that are not so good (progressive, allstate, geico, to name a few. Fast and friendly claim service Used original equipment manufacturer parts not generic parts. Very competetive rates so I switched to them from Mercury a little over a year ago and have already had 2 losses, very satisfied and highly recommended."
