"Been with Westfield 25 years. Was warned never to file claim. After 20'years, one claim of hail damage to roof. Four years later, accident with speeding teenagers I got charged with. No tickets in 24 years with Westfield. Well, the warning was true. A year later they cancelled me. I guess 50% pure profut was not enough. I really wasn't surprised because I knew they were jerks. So now I have to find insurance while I still have points on my license and pay thru the roof. Avoid these guys. Rude, insensitive, and in it for the cash only."

"Claim reps are not well trained and rude. You never know how good your insurance until you had to file a claim. I had a rental car with windshield damage. It happened out of state while i was on a travel time schedule. I was transfered to 7 different reps and having to repeat the same answers. They are not very well trained and are not aiming for customer service satisfaction. I am very dissatisfied with their customer servide quality and will recommend anyone to stay away from this company at all cost. Cheap does not always mean good."

"We had two minor incidents occur at our residence. One as simple as a metal door falling onto a truck which we needed our liability insurance to take care of. Insurance denied this saying that since it was the wind the knocked it over they could not cover the damage. Has another incident with a shed which they also managed to deny. I am very scared that if we had a major incident they would not cover it. I am looking to change insurance companies as soon as possible."

"Their underwriting is really poor given that they are a mom and pop shop. Stay away. Erie and Grange have provided great service to us in the past and I'll go back to one of them knowing that they have excellent policies and service. Such a huge waste of my time to try out Westfield just to save $200 a year. Not worth it. "

"These guys are crooks and beware do not use them at all costs. They lie and delay as much as possible. I had hail damage and filed a claim with them. They agreed to all costs and when if came o make the final payment they refused stating that they needed all documentation from my contractor labor rates and material invoices. Provided that and they are still making up excuses not to pay and I owe 10000 now"

"All their infrastructure is based around you being able to pay your bills. However whenever you need to get someone on the phone no one is available. Whenever you need to get a new quote because you're moving there is no website no app no nothing. You have to call during your own working hours and wait for someone to be available to help you. "

"They cancelled our coverage after 12 years based on claim history. We only used the homeowners coverage twice auto coverage 5 times for minor damage 1 time for a larger damage accident in bad weather. Westfield is not consumer friendly and staff is rude and uncaring. Would stay away from them."

"Don't dare actually file a claim. They will look for any reason to cancel your policy. It's ok if you send them thousands of dollars every year but they don't want to pay out for damage and will drop you as soon as they can in very rude ways. My notice came December 26th. Merry Christmas to you to."

"It has been over a year and Westfield is still refusing to pay my claim. It has been the worst nightmare ever WARNING...WESTFIELD WILL TAKE YOUR PREMIUMS AND MAKE YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE INSURED. BUT WHEN YOU HAVE A CLAIM THEY WILL MAKE YOU OUT TO BE A THIEF AND LIAR AND NEVER PAY A DIME FOR YOUR CLAIM They are crooked no good people who are great actors in the beginning and stick it to you in the end They will go to the exent of making you and your spouse submit your cell phones and download all the data off of them to try to find a way to twist it to mnake it look like a false claim. "

"Purchased the Estate package. When my Trane aircondition unit broke down this month 3 service repair guys diagnosed as a leak in the evaporation coiler and recommended the unit replacement. When I submitted the claim under the Equipment Failure coverage they denied it stating "wear and tear" of the airconditioner unit is not covered even going as far as stating that my service guy told them as such. My service guy never used the term "wear and tear" to described the equipment failute it was Westfield's interpretation. The irony of this all is the sample "loss claim" that Westfiled used to describe how an central aircondition would be covered under their Equipment Breakdown website is EXACTLY what happened to my unit. Westfield uses the "wear and tear" to describe anything that they will not cover since ANY mechanical or electrical equipment that they claim to "cover" will easily falll into this "wear and tear" description. For anyone who has or consider the Estate package I think we are all in agreement that we purchase this policy believing this very expensive policy comes with the no-hassle management so that we are not treated like idiots. The "deny first" policy that insurance companies have is not only frustrated but demeaning to any honest client who are not trying to cheat the system. It appears the Estate Package is geared towards the higher end clients is a not it all claims to be. People who can afford to purchase the Estate package can afford to pay for an air conditioner unit. It is the principle of bait-n-switch and breach of contract that makes this very frustrating. I will vote with my money. What a great disappointment that I cannot trust Westfield but also loosing my support for my home-state industry Ohio."

"This is the worst insurance company out there . I had an elctrical fire in my garage on 1/7/13 . As of today I still have no scope of my claim from them . They will do anything they can to get out of paying a valid claim.They hired a lawyer who just ignores you make you feel like an enemy . They are rude unprofessional incompetent . They hang up the phone on you . Agent try's to trick you to cxl policy before claim is settled .Stay away form this company - you will be sorry Run - rating - 0"

"Despite being a Westfield customer for over 2 decades and having paid 400 -500K in premiums during that period when we eventually filed a claim -which was the fault of another party not ours -Westfield took the position that we were not entitled to ANY substantial claim despite repeatedly submitting data to the contrary which was exactly what our 'claims manager' suggested we submit -to date have optimistically received pennies on the dollar from our claim -RUN Rated 0 out of 10 possible. "

"Filed a homeowners claim. When we called to inquire about status of claim they would say that they have been tying to contact us. What? Are these people stupid. Nothing on caller ID and no message left. Outright dishonest people. Never use them for insurance. "

"Major storm blew through lightening struck my home. Multiple appliances computers are now not working. Roof has damage. Replacement cost insurance but told I have to have repairmen/estimates/maybe only patch roof. All has to be paid out of my pocket and they will try to reimburse me? What was the premium for full replacement cost insurance for? Never had a claim before in my life...unbelievable..."

"35 year Loyal customer and they turned down a 1352 Claim over technical issues. Even went as far as the COE of the Company and No relief on this claim. Will be going out of my way to let as many poeple as I can for as long as I can NOT to do business with Westfield Insurance.Customer loyalty is JOKE to them after 35 years to be treated this way is Absolutely Unfathomable. Loyalty does not count anymore. Spread the word."

"Currently trying to get roof fixed from storm. It has been over a month roof has only been patched plywood getting wet underneath because it keeps raining Insurance company used Disaster Restoration Services of whom I still have never heard from and tried to call several times. "

"filed a flood claim. the adjuster is VERY slow to process the claim. the engineer that was sent was inexperienced and rude. it is five months later. i have been lied to and treated rudely. was repeatedly given incomplete documents to sign and then had false information attached to it. do not trust them find a competitor"

"Received a notice in the mail telling me I would not be renewed because my Agent no longer represented them. Never missed a payment in 6 years. To top it off they withdrew another $68.00 payment from my bank AFTER they canceled my policy. "

"they raised both of my policies, my homeowners went up 30%. i am very disappointed. they said it was a raise in their rates. maybe some day they will wake up like walmart did and realize people will go elsewhere.also they said it had to do with my credit score. i pay everything on time and have learned alot about the awful credit score game they play with our lives."

"My premiums keep going up even though we are low risk clients (over 50 professional couple) and our cars are going down in value. When I asked my agent, she said this company went up the most in premiums of all the companies they carry. I am looking for another agent and company."

"Someone backed into me. The adjuster called and told me to take my auto to the shop, pay for it myself and then they would "try" to get the money back from the man that hit me. They did not even bother to contact him until I insisted they do so.When they did, he told them it was his fault. I had to tell them how to do their job. Just got my home owners bill. The premiums raised $67.00. This new bill came with a letter claiming they capped the premiums to make it easier on their customers by holding down the rates. This company has not had to put out one dime in claims for me. EVER. Why the big jump? Crooks. I do not recommend them. Run to the nearest competitor."
