"Customer over 20 years, they mishandled multiple auto pay monthly payments and then without any contact just cancelled our insurance 3 people 4 cars. Didn't know until 9 days later when they mailed a form letter. Complete joke of a company and no help available on a weekend. Transferred to another company and saved over 1500.00 a year. Do not use"

"Agent is very helpful, but when dealing with the adjusters, they seem to need an attitude adjustment. Twice I have dealt with adjusters and they are condescending and unsympathetic."

"It has been 5 months since we had a fire in our home. Arbella sent me some money to get settled in at first.and has not sent a payment to begin rebuilding the structure"

"I do have to say that Arbella gave me a very fair deal for my totaled car. The man was very polite and well mannered. As for the others, no thank you I have had this insurance for over 20 years and this is the first time I have had an issue. They are, instead of going by the police report which even the officer said neither party could be blamed, are choosing to use a statement from a witness who doesn't even know which direction I was traveling in and who has changed her story already. Really, now I have to go to the pd and get another copy of the report and fax it to them so they can try to call the other witnesses Really, I thought you worked for me. Thanks a lot for not standing beside me. After talking to many people and listening to their comments I have lost my faith in this company. Don't just read internet comments, ask co-workers, friends etc for their opinions."

"Absolutely disgusting. I'm not even filing a claim. I called because I needed clarification on using a rental car while traveling. Customer Service went into defensive mode and would not explain how the coverage works. I called the agent , and he did the same thing. I requested underwriting guidelines and both Arbella and the Agent refused. I've paid all my bills and NO claims ever filed. They are happy to take my money but not tell me what I'm covered for. Go to the BBB site and see the reviews ALL negative reviews."

"So i processed a auto claim. I was unsatisfied with the claim handler. He wasn't being helpful. Also, he was kind of rude. When i checked online before i've spoken to the clain handler, my info was correct. He told me he had left a voicemail, which he had the wrong phone number incorrect. Before i hung up with him, he didn't ask if i needed any more help. Very poor customer service. That makes want to cancel my policy right away."

"Just about the worst insurance company I have ever had to displeasure to encounter. Their customer service is APPALLING. They refused to reimburse me for THEIR mistakes because they didn't feel like doing it. I'm now paying out the a for these fees that they couldn't even tell me what these fees were for Absolutely ridiculous. "

"Refused home insurance due to dog. Inaccurately "guessed" dog breed based on picture and decided the dog was a breed on their "no" list. Will be cancelling all insurance with them."

"Very difficult getting any claim processed and slow paying on claim. Not there for you when you need them to be. Phone calls are not returned. Just a very bad experience."

"Called to put in a claim for mold. Adjuster told me i had mold in my rafter and would send me a check and to get it fixed. Called him he was very rude never sent a check never send me a letter. basically laughed in my face Closed the claim without my knowledge."

"My agent is great but with Arbella you might have to put a fire under them to get the adjuster out to deal with your car especially if you dont have rental car coverage. The adjuster kept dragging his feet and told my mechanic he could only drive the 30 minutes to his garage on one particular day---the only one my mechanic couldnt do. Then he required the engine to be pulled apart for examination. That delayed it. Then he blew off a week and went on vacation as did his boss. I had to call their office and finally got a responsive employee who had another adjuster go out. He was surprised by the previous adjusters need to have the engine taken apart. Anyway I did get a check out of it. Ah but remember this If Arbella is ready to declare your car totaled but the mechanic says you want to salvage the car the adjuster might not think he should call you to confirm. So bizarre.... Anyway Arbella will allow bureaucratic inefficiency cost you and them money so be prepared to manage the process yourself. "

"Had been with Arbella for 20 years this year I asked my agent if I was getting the best price from them to insure 2autos and did they compare rates. Found out I could get the same coverage for 1000 less than Arbella need I say more"

"We had a fire in our home. Arbella doesnt have a local office to talk to them directly. My local office told me they were only a broker and that I had to go through the 3rd party adjuster. Hes horrible he made my wife break down and cry. He threatened to kick us out of the local hotel. And it was the only hotel in our town. I live in North Adams MA its a small town. They never return your phone call. Arbella doesnt want to settle they want you to suffer. I hate this company and cant believe that they are allowed to treat people like this. I would never recommend Arbella Insurance to anyone."

"Getting any reasonable amount of money from them for my ice dam damage has been impossible. Their adjuster was rude and lied through the entire process. I basically got 25% of what it cost to get fixed. They are a terrible company."

"Been a customer for 30 years.Was rearended and followed their procedures. went to auto body that they guaranteed the work.Auto body did awful work.Arbella supervisor tells me to put duct tape on leaking window.Finally agreed to fix vehicle at another auto body but again did not fix correctly.Arbella approves of a rental while being fixed now they refuse to pay for it(over $800).Will now see lawyer about this."

"Arbella issued an insurance binder for my new house, then, two weeks later threatened to drop it based on virtually nothing. I live in MA and they should know he laws here. They claimed my house was unsellable because of a remediated oil tank, which was handled legally and properly. They demanded an EPA certificate, which we do not even do in Massachusetts. I have the permits and the town signed off on the project. That they imply all fo the realtors, the town, and the lawyers werre wrong and that one person at Arbells is right is outrageous and they have caused me a huge amount of stress."

"Arbella is just a company one should not trust. If you have a claim go get a lawyer then file the claim. They cheated on the epa test and actually only tested the upstairs hallway but claimed the entire house was clean. The last thing you should do is try to work with their adjustors. Get a public adjustor at a minimum and better yet a lawyer because you probably will be cheated if you do not"

"I have lived in MA for 6 years. One of Arbella s people recommended that I get my previous driving record from the state I previously lived to show I have been a good driver prior to moving. I was so happy when I got a reimbursement check in the mail! "

"I currently have a different insurance company, due to terrible customer service and lack of communication. I switched to another insurance company when they offered to beat my current premium by 700 dollars. Arbella is a rip off. There premiums are ridiculous regardless of driving history or credit. Be careful when thinking Arbella. I would deffintiley not recommend to anyone."

"Not recommended I sold my Car over two months ago, still waiting for my refund check for the remaining balance. Since I never had an accident or been in a situation where I would need their customer support, out of this experience, I would not trust them to be my insurance company. I have called them tens of times they have shown carelessness by either sending the check to the wrong address or ignoring my request to re issue the check. Try considering other companies for better service elsewhere, I am glad I did!! "

"When we left the state and called our Arbella Agent to cancel our policy. We asked what we needed to do, the information they provided was incomplete and inaccurate. Three months and nine-hundred dollars in premiums later - we're still trying to get written confirmation that they've canceled the policies and that they won't be deducting any more policy premiums from our account. To top it all off, the customer service staff have been rude, curt, and dismissive. We'll be taking the matter up with the State Division of Insurance as a last resort. This has been the single worst experience I've ever had with any company in my life. I'd rather do business with the Mob. Now that the Insurance market in Massachusetts has opened somewhat, do yourself a favor and take your business to a reputable national insurer like Progressive."

"I have had a really positive experience with Arbella. I had to file a claim after being rear-ended, and it was an easy process. I got a check very quickly afterwards, with no hassle. Everyone I talked with during the process was very nice and helpful. I have been with Arbella for 7 years and never had a problem or been treated poorly."

"Customer Service: Hopefully you will never need them, and if you do, good luck! Billing: Paid my bill on time, the check was cashed, however, a week later I received a notice that my policy had been canceled, and two days later, came another bill??? I will be taking business elsewhere."

"Terrible insurance. They are disorganized. Sent me cancellation notices even though I paid (and they cashed) my who year's bill that I paid on time. Never available in office. Message on 7/12 said that the office is closed on July 4th."

"When you call, do your best to speak with a human because if you leave a message you cannot be sure they will admit receipt, costing you valuable time and money on your claim. Keep very careful records of all phone conversations and communications!"

"Sneaky billing, be careful. Raised premium 300% in 3 years. Never had a claim. Went to another company who was glad to take me for 300% less than Arbella's last bill. It should be illegal!"
