"Assurity discriminates against Hispanics, minorities and single fathers. I was an agent for them for a short period of time and they continued to decline or increase the rates on perfectly healthy people that didn't meet their Lexis Nexis scoring system. They use Lexis Nexis to underwrite their insurance. This is a system that penalizes good people. It looks at over a thousand indicators to predict if things such as a high credit card balance, the length of residency, or whether or not you own or rent your home is going to cause you to die early. This system is complete BS and is their primary method of determining whether or not your family will get protected. AVOID ASSURITY AT ALL COSTS. Don't fall for their low price trap."

"This company scams the elderly, like my 74 year old father who trusted them. When he passed, they claimed his policy was already cancelled and I made all the payments for him They should be closed down Do not use them Stay away from them"

"They claimed that pregnancy was a pre existing condition. PREGNANCY After dealing with their customer service for six months they denied the claim. Been paying into them for over a year. Complete waste of time. Don't deal with these people. They are scam artists that cheated us and no telling how many others out of their rightly deserved money."

"They make you jump through hoops to get the care that you need then decide you don't need the care after all and don't pay up. They are rotten and they must scrape the very bottom of the barrel to find the worst employees ever If you have any other choice for insurance do yourself a favor and take it"

"I had gotten disability insurance through assurity 15 years ago. Never had put in a claim until 102817. I had injured my hamstring and needed to stay out of work for 3 months. Ass-surity paid me 4000 total2,000 monthy, then I decided to go back to work because I was feeling better. Assurity claimed my employer wasn't making the payments to them on my halfwhich I couldn't understand because it was coming out of my check, so I called to see. Come to do find out, they made me put in another application for a policy, then dropped like a bad habit."

"Assurity offers supplemental insurance similar to Aflac the one big difference is that Aflac pays what they say in their policy and Assurity will give you several reasons why they don't cover you. Customer service is a brick wall of let me check on that- I'll have to get back to you and the end result is always NO Any accident you may have at work is not covered because of your workers comp insurance. Supplemental in my book is to cover my time off work ,My wife's time off work. Gas to and from the hospital. Answer is still NO Lots of Lawyers at this company to write up these policies. Aflac treated us much more humanely Wish my company would go back with them."

"I have been with this insurance company since 1998 and I can't afford a 110 a month to keep a policy in force. I asked for a cash out and was told because their was full life. I had no money these people took my money for over twenty years. I'm 73 years old with no insurance if I die."

"Assurity short term disability insurance , been paying on policy 12 years - monthly payout would be 800.00 been waiting 3 weeks on check so far. PS never used before."

"Submitted a cash surrender request on 32817. Assurity received the request 4217. As of 42417, the request is still in process of review and no check sent. I sent a similar request to Jackson National on 41817 date they received the requestand received a check on 42217. Big difference. I called Assurity Life on 42717 and was told it may take an additional THREE WEEKS before a check is sent."

"Terrible customer service. Had Whole life insurance with them for over 20 years on a 100,000.00 policy paying 116.000 per month. My return on investment is less than 6000.00. I've compared it to friends who have same account with different companies who have tripled their return on investment. This tells me they got rich on my dime. To make matters worse is they won't release the money as per my surrender request. It is going on 5 weeks now. After all these years of having automatic withdrawal from my account, they make me jump through hoops to get my money out."

"My father was paying for my brother's and my life insurance policy. My father passed away and I contacted the advisor that sold us the policies. He never followed through with us and I had to contact head office in Omaha numerous times. Thought everything was taken care of then I get 8 letters in the mail saying policies were being terminated due to non payment. This company just wants your money. Do not use them."

"I called to have my premium stopped for 'this month and to close my policy out. I have had this company for over 7 years now. The first person I spoke with was very helpful. I was emailed the form to fill out and my husband faxed it to them with a voided check for them to do an automatic bank draft to my account. I emailed them today to make sure it had been received ok and inquired as to how long it would be for a bank draft to be issued. The original person I had contact with gave me the amount I should be receiving give or take a few dollars . Today I was told they received my request for cancellation and the automatic deposit has been suspended I called to have this explained and already both employees have given me incorrect answers. I don't want to believe I'm getting the run around I'm just thankful my family didn't have to rely on this policy had something happened to me. Thankfully I purchased a new policy with a different company back in August. I don't think I would recommend this company anymore."

"Filed claim after being in hospital for 6 weeks gets letter saying it was pre existing claim as I went to doctor prior to operation incedentally where I caught 2 major infections septicaemia and staphylococcus then then say the infects were pre existing how can they be they were caught in hospital THE COMPANY RIP YOU OFF TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RIP YOU OFF DO NOT REPEAT DO NOT USE THEM THEY SHOULD BE REPORTED"

"Read ALL fine print...if you live that long. I do not trust this co. to pay a legitimate claim and will cancel three remaining life policies due to repeated problems with communication, billing, statements and changes in the way they service policies. Overall, I think there are better choices out there. Let the buyer beware. "

" Sorry to see some complaints about Assurity. I became disabled following cancer surgery and chemotherapy. My claims with Assurity's disability policy I held were quickly handled. Monthly checks come on time--paperwork is minimal--complications are politely dealt with via phone. Great and fair people to deal with. Iowa policyholder 2014."

"My husband and I have both had life insurance with this Company for over 30 years since before they were Assurity Life back when it was Lincoln Life. I pay quarterly and in 30 years once was late and this last time it was a few days after deadline. They sent application for reinstatement and held the premium I sent. It took over a month to get a letter back saying my husband had not signed one page of the application and we were cancelled. Letter stated a refund check was inclosed which it wasn't and no deposit was made to my bank account. This after 30 years of paying our premiums and now those would triple as we are in our late sixties. I very upset and dismayed at this treatment. "

"a great company when it was woodmen, but now combined with another company & now called Assurity, this company delays claims, writes the language of contracts so that they can get out of paying claims, very frustrating! "

"The look to play games of "gotcha" so that they can deny your claim and not pay you the benefit. Their policies are written in language too hard to understand. Somebody needs to report this company to the authorities. Their behavior is criminal."

"Company has perfected misdirection and delay tactics to point of causing extreme duress and inconvenience towards policy holders, families, and affected others. Definitely, in the business to profit with no empathy shown towards plight of policy holders."

"3 different times we were given incorrect information so we never changed anything, 1 time never received a response Once it was time to file a claim payment went to someone else. They did not care if incorrect information was given or not. "

"I am currently disabled. And upon filing and completing the required statement/report and the "attending physician's report." The initial prognosis was "total disability for at least six months. Within days, I received my first monthly check. After receiving the third monthly check I received a request for another "updated attending physician's statement in order to facilitate future disbursement benefits." And I received the notice one week prior to the scheduled monthly disbursement. After several calls to the claims department, my claim is still "under review!" I WILL SUE AND GET THIS MESSAGE "GOOGLE!" "
