"This company lapsed my insurance and I was paying my premium to a local agent who come to collect my premiums on 4 different policies. I had a time getting this situation straightened out. Their explanation was that one of the agents died and the premiums didn't get sent in to the company. Now, they have taken all of the cash value out of two of my policies on which I had small loans on. They alledged that my mom gave them permission to take the money out to catch up premiums on several other policies that I have with them. I am the one that have kept these policies paid from day one. My mom has never had anything to do with these policies. I am so frustrated with this company. I am considering getting an attorney to check into this matter. I certainly would not recommend this company to anyone. Thank you."

"It's 2017 and companies should be able to adapt with modern times. Their competitors can process similar claims in 24-48 hours. I've been waiting over a month and still have not been paid. Stay away from them at all costs. Go with New York Life. I'm a satisfied customer there and will be taking all future business there."

"please be advised to receive a claim from these people and your old as a beneficiary they will probably put you off so maybe you will die and they wont have to pay you buy somewhere else"

"Do not purchase a ten thousand dollar whole life policy for someone likely to live ten years or more with a 100 monthly premium. They will not do any adjustment after a payment is already made that covers the value of the policy. For such a profitable company they surely rip off some poor people to make their money. But time will tell. The fool and his money shall soon depart."

"Didn't receive a copy of the policy for six months, only to find out that it was not a two year graded policy as the agent told me, but a four year graded policy. The agent never delivered my policy within the examination period, and I paid premiums for 7 months based on his misrepresentation of the policy. When I received a copy in the mail 6 months after the issue date, I immediately cancelled the policy, however I was not returned the premiums paid, because it was over 30 days since the policy effective date."

"May parents had a life insurance policy with this company. They both died a little over a year after signing up. The company maintains that if they died within 2 years of starting the policy, they would review the circumstances and decided if they will honor the policy or not. My father died of heart disease, which was identified on the plicy application; Mom died of pneumonia-not something that is foreseen. Columbia Life stated they will not pay out on the life insurance policies stating that there were other items in the medical records (which they wanted to see 5 years worth of records eventhough they only held the policy for a little over a year) that voided the policy. I also had to submit the same information to them 3 times(because they lost the first 2) and then call them repeatedly before they even put in the request to the doctors for the medical records. They sat on the claims for 4 months before they made any moves on them. The claims rep handling them also continued to confuse our claim with others, never seeming to know what was going on and would not return phone calls. Very poor policies, very poor customer service and I will ensure everyone I know looks elsewhere for a company that can be relied upon when the time comes!"

"I have none. I have not been able to communicate with my agent despite numerous and numerous phone calls to his office. He has not responded to any messages left in the last 2 weeks."
