Company History: Badger Mutual was founded in 1887 by a group of 137 Lutheran churchmen from Milwaukee. They elected John Schwartz to be the company's first president. In 1891 the Mutual aid society was incorporated and in 1895 the Company rented its first office space. Inland Marine Lines was included in 1944 and full automobile coverage was added in 1949.
