Regence Blue Shield Reviews and Customer Comments

"Not a moral company. Not a fair company. What they did to my family is a agregious and shocks the soul. Yeah, that bad. Im dropping them at open enrollment. Id rather be without insurance that pay them another dime. Hope they fail."

"Everything you can do involving health insurance, responsibility of care, humane or even just sensible can they even read there Decision making based on clear facts and rules set by themselves- they do wrong. Avoid Regence at all costs, this company should be under investigation for how poor they conduct themselves."

"Stay away from regence,They don't want to pay for anything that there contracted to do. I had to pay for pain medication out of my own pocket when I got out of surgery because they say you have to be approved first before they will cover it,and that takes about two weeks so in the mean time we are supposed to be in pain all that time waiting for them to approve it, even after it was approved they still wouldn't reimburse me for the medication, there just trying ways to get out of paying what there contracted to do .I will be talking to the Washington State insurance commissioner About this."

"I have Medicare Regence Blue Advantage for several years now. I have been trying to get treatment for Complex Post Traumatic Stress disorder for 2 years now. The long term stress is destroying my health. Regence has only 1 Psychiatrist and she is not taking new patients until some time after May 31, 2018 I can not be prescribed the proper medications or have any counseling with a Psychiatrist. I have been in a flare for 2 years and Regence just says Oh well. I have filed 5 grievances to no avail. How they added notes to my file that all the doctors can read and will also not treat me. I have lost over 15 lbs. in a few months because of the extreme level of anxiety which is a huge part of having PTSD. I find this truly outrageous. The doctors they do have will see you, but do nothing other than throw more pills at you. They lack any mental health services, such as counseling because they have no clue who is in their network. I was left with over 40 names of Psychiatrists that I had to call myself and they either are not in the network, accept my insurance or they have never worked with Regence and are in private practice. I have filed 5 grievances and that led to nothing being done and my medical charts has been flagged for retaliation. I called Medicare and they don't care about the fraud, the over billing or messing up your credit. I have attempted to out of network coverage but although the woman who authorize the referrals did not do her job. As far as I am concerned, Regence medicare supplemental plans are a joke and they do not qualify to be a Medicare provider. They haven't updated there directory since 2014 and show physicians that have never worked under them and do not take Medicare at all. I'm sorry but this looks pretty fraudulent to me."

"Went in for ortho surgery and 3 months later received bills for over $5000 so far. Regency paid zero. When called, regency said that they were missing a form never received and doctor's records. Why did the surgery get approved and now all of a sudden I get this huge bill with more coming? Customer service is a joke. All paperwork is now in and they say it will take at least a week to even acknowledge that they have it. When I checked today, now they are saying they might need additional records. Meanwhile, bills continue to add up. Very frustrating and stressful. Had no idea that the claim wouldn't be paid after my doctor's billing office went through all of the cost and approval process. Unorganized and in the dark ages when it comes to claims processing. I would switch insurance carriers if I could"
