Cigna Health Insurance Reviews and Customer Comments

"They disapprove needed procedures where other companies approve those same procedures. I hate Cigna am sick of them. They have the worst reputation. They think of nobody but themselves."

"In January the company switched to Cigna and 1 day before surgery they decided it was unnesassary. My surgeon was able to clear PART of it and now after the surgeries they seem to know what I need better than the doctors. They have cancelled my Physical Therapies and prefer me to live on opioides. I have had nothing but difficulties since they were acquired. Cigna SUCKS"

"My daughter is a bone cancer survivor. When she was diagnosed, it was determined that there was no way to remove the tumor due to its location. Chemo and radiation were used to shrink the tumor and kill it. At the time of her diagnosis, she was given a 20% chance of survival. 2 years later, she was declared in remission, but we were told that she had a 50% chance of making it five years. We just reached year 6, praise God. She needs several tests on an annual basis to ensure that the cancer has not returned. In the past, her dad had blue cross who never balked at covering it. 2 years ago, the MRI uncovered a benign tumor on her thyroid close to the original cancer. Now CIGNA says the MRI is not medically necessary. My child has a tumor wrapped around her carotid artery, that was dormant a year ago and it is not medically necessary to perform a test that runs 300 Those insurance folks must be some really cold hearted people. I would NEVER recommend this company."

"There is no healthcare for people over the age of 65. Got Sepsis from bad colonoscopy and was left untreated and misdiagnosed as arthritis and told I would suffer this pain the rest of my life. This was 8 months of severe swelling and pain. Refused to treat dislocated elbow because I could still move the arm. Refused any treatment for cholesterol over 300. Physical is blood pressure, oxygen test and blood tests only if you have family history. No ekg, chest xray, bone density check, etc. More interested in survey taking. Cigna must have death panel recommendations for doctors."
