"I purchased my house in August of 2008 with a premium of 486 dollars. My premium has increased to 902. I called the agent and left a message with an office member requesting an explanation for the yearly increase of my premium. The agent was not available at the time of my call so I asked that he give me a return call. Well it will be two years as of August since I requested a return phone call and all I have received was an e-mail stating that rates have increased because of the claims that have been filed around the state of Georgia. I have not had a single claim since becoming insured with Cotton States. I find it very disrespectful that my request for a return phone call was answered with an e-mail and the option to buy more products to save a little more. I will not renew or recommend this company. "

"Had them for 16 years with 4 claims and now cancelling me. In tornado area but my house only had little damage and still cancelling. Even the claims were handled poorly with trying to not pay. Run from this company. If you have this company get rid of them before they hurt you like me."

"Run fast...Very fast...They are very dishonest When its time to pay there claim they have every reason under the sun not to do so I have been a loyal customer for over 3yrs and I am very disappointed No customer service what so ever Please dont waste your money and time I most definitely switching"

"While sorting and packing up belongings for storage, I had a water heater break and flood my kitchen and laundry room. Because I had boxes stacked ready to move to storage, the adjuster decided my "housekeeping" was lacking so they canceled my insurance after decades of coverage. Plus, they did not cover items that were obviously destroyed in the water.I would RUN from this company."

"Had burglary at my home, they have dragged things out for 1.5 years, $20K loss, never got a dime. They hire a lawyer to grill you under oath, suggest you are lying and ask for a lot of information that has NOTHING to do with you claim. They are a cheap and dishonest company."

"Cotton State agents play games and do not return phone calls. My son was in a car accident over a week ago and no one will return my calls."

"Cotton States is second to none in claims service. I have their zero-deductible glass coverage, and I was very happy when my windshield was fixed at no cost to me! Thanks! Friendly agents, the best in the business. "

"Home office refuses to discuss ANYTHING with policy holder. All inquiries are funneled to local agent. There are instances when you need help beyond the rep and Cotton States really puts up barriers to this. Our auto insurance cards are 20# copy paper, very cheap, very aggravating. "

"Cotton States notified me of cancelation almost 2 years after I turned my primary residence into rental property. They had me complete a new application for a rental policy and strung me along for over 3 weeks. The Home Office mailed me a refund check twice and the sales office had me return it twice while communicating to me that I would be approved. After the Home Office mailed 3rd refund check to me, I again called the sales office and was told I would be approved only if I applied for an umbrella policy to include my car. Extremely poor treatment and customer service. "

"we had a fire on 11/23/09,,,we called the day of and were told that the adluster was on vacation until 11/30. Asked if they coould send another and they said noone else available. My home is gutted and he shows up saying I cant be on site during his "investigation". He then states that we must repair when its an obvious total loss. Also says we have to pay contractors FIRST and file for reimbursement. Someone please tell me why we pay premiums."

"I had a car claim. I had my car in the shop the same day of the accident and ready to pick up 4 days later. Excellent service. Great choices of auto shops to take car to, and a very professional agent."

"I am dealing w/ hail damage to my roof.Took me one day to get the ball rolling.However it took about about 4-7 days for the out of state rep(adjustor)to come out to my home and tag my damge. Another 2.5 weeks, approx., for my check to come to my home. When I got the check i counldnt cash it becuase it had the WRONG payee info on the check.Very poor business practice. I am corrently waiting on my recut check for my roof. Even had to cancelled my work that was scheduledto take place on my roof. "

"My mother passed and had a poliy with Cotton States. The funeral home got paid by a third party for the insurance company. Now it is taking forever for that party to be paid by Cotton States. My mother had the policy so that this exact thing would not happen. There are things that needed to be taken of and it has been almost two months. When I called they said they only have one person who handles the claims. Are you kidding me? The local Mom and Pop store has more that 1 person working. No wonder this company gets such bad reviews. I would never use them for insurance."

"When I had a house fire cotton states my it a smooth situation of getting my home fixed. In many cases I have seen consumers fighting with the insurance company to get results cotton states was excellent through out the entire process"

"I just file a claim and the adjuster can out at a timely fashion. I am now wanting on to see how fast my I will receive a check for the repairs."

"I had 4 different agents in one year. Only one would keep their promises, and none took care of my accounts. I was told by all, that the problems with my accounts, were taken care of, but that was not the truth. This is the worst insurance company I have ever delt with, going back over 30 years, and with 25 or so houses over time."

"Prompt service, listened to my concerns about the claim and payment, adjusted it under a week. 4 weeks later I have my last work done to get all fixed. I am very happy ! My insurance did what they promised, keep me covered in times of need."
